The Red Sox have acquired minor leaguer Kyle Kaminska to complete the Zach Stewart trade with the Pirates, Alex Speier of WEEI reported Thursday.
Kaminska, 24, threw at three different levels between the Pirates and Marlins system. The Pirates converted him from relief to starting pitcher in August, when they demoted him to High-A Bradenton. He made three starts there with a 1.69 ERA and a 5.50 K/BB, but at 24 he should be advanced for the level.
The righty owns a 4.22 ERA and a 4.17 K/BB in 135 career minor league games (488 2/3 innings).
