Pirates pitcher Stolmy Pimentel has been placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a sprained right ankle, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Pimental suffered the injury while throwing a pitch during Wednesday's game.
Pimentel heads to the DL with a 5.40 ERA in 31 2/3 innings out of the bullpen. A timetable for his return is not yet known.
