The White Sox have claimed pitcher Zach Stewart off waivers from the Pirates, the club announced. Stewart was a member of the 2012 White Sox until he was traded (along with Brent Lillibridge) to the Red Sox for Kevin Youkilis.
Stewart, 26, threw 35.2 innings in the majors between Chicago and Boston. He had an 8.58 ERA behind a whopping 14 home runs allowed (3.5 per nine innings). He also made 11 starts at Triple-A Pawtucket in the Boston organization, where he had a 3.94 ERA over 59 1/3 innings.
