Soria (undisclosed) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Saturday.

Blue Jays' Joakim Soria: Returns from injured list
Soria (finger) was activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.
Soira landed on the shelf with inflammation in his right middle finger after making his Blue Jays debut in early August, but he's now back on the active roster. The veteran right-hander could operate as the primary setup man for closer Jordan Romano with Brad Hand struggling since being acquired from the Nationals.

Blue Jays' Joakim Soria: Throws bullpen Friday
Soria (finger) threw a bullpen session Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Soria landed on the injured list Aug. 4 with inflammation in his right middle finger. The veteran right-hander resumed throwing last week, and he's now progressed to mound work. It's possible that he'll be activated later this weekend so long as he comes out of Friday's session with no problems. Soria figures to be given plenty of high-leverage opportunities once he's reinstated.

Blue Jays' Joakim Soria: Slated to face hitters
Soria (finger) will throw live batting practice Monday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Soria didn't experience any issues following Friday's bullpen session, so he'll face hitters Monday for the first time since he was placed on the injured list Aug. 4. If the right-hander feels good following Monday's throwing session, the Blue Jays are hopeful that he'll be able to be activated shortly after without requiring a rehab assignment.

Blue Jays' Joakim Soria: Nearing return
Soria (finger) has resumed throwing and could be activated during the upcoming homestand that begins Friday against Detroit, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Soria is pain-free and nearing activation. He currently sports a streak of five straight scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and three saves over that stretch. Jordan Romano has been working as Toronto's closer, but he doesn't have a firm grip on that job. Regardless of his role, Soria should work in high-leverage spots once healthy.

Blue Jays' Joakim Soria: Lands on injured list
Soria was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right middle finger inflammation.
The veteran right-hander was acquired from the Diamondbacks on Friday and debuted for the Blue Jays on Monday, but he's dealing with a finger issue after debuting with his new team. It's unclear how long Soria is expected to be sidelined, though he won't be eligible to be activated until Aug. 13 in Seattle.

Diamondbacks' Joakim Soria: Enters in eighth inning
Soria allowed one hit and struck out two over a scoreless eighth inning to pick up his third hold in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.
Soria has been the Diamondbacks' closer since the end of June, but manager Torey Lovullo brought him in to hold a lead for Tyler Clippard, who eventually picked up his first save since 2018. Soria's days as a closer this season appeared to be numbered, as the Diamondbacks are expected to trade the 37-year-old within the next few days, but it was odd to see him used in anything but the closer's role. He faced the top of the Rangers' order, which probably factored into the decision.

Blue Jays' Joakim Soria: Heading to Toronto
Soria was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Blue Jays on Friday for two players to be named later, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Soria didn't allow a run in 13 of his past 15 appearances for Arizona and posted a 2.51 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 18:3 K:BB while recording six saves during that stretch. The veteran right-hander should have a high-leverage role for Toronto, though he'll lose most of his fantasy relevance with Brad Hand and Jordan Romano set to compete for saves.

Diamondbacks' Joakim Soria: Locks down sixth save
Soria pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout to earn the save in Wednesday's 6-4 win over Pittsburgh.
Soria has logged five saves in his last six appearances, and all six of his saves have come in nine July outings. The veteran reliever hasn't been all that steady this year with a 4.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP, but he's only given up three runs in his last nine innings, and they all came in one appearance. He appears to be Arizona's top closing option for now, but Tyler Clippard logged a scoreless inning Wednesday in his return from a shoulder strain. He could ultimately challenge Soria for the ninth-inning role.

Diamondbacks' Joakim Soria: Saves another
Soria allowed two hits and struck out two over a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his fifth save in Monday's 4-2 win over Pittsburgh.
The Diamondbacks' starting staff has come around since the All-Star Game, which has presented Soria with three consecutive save opportunities. He blew one of them spectacularly against the Cubs on Saturday but converted saves Sunday and Monday. Fantasy owners should enjoy this run, because Soria will likely be moved by the trade deadline to a team looking at him as experienced arm out of the bullpen, and not a closer.

Diamondbacks' Joakim Soria: Notches fourth save
Soria allowed a double while striking out two to get the one-inning save over the Cubs on Sunday.
Soria was called upon to relieve Merrill Kelly after the latter struggled to close out the complete game. Soria surrendered a double to allow the Cubs to get within two runs, but then he shut the door on them for good. It was a great bounceback performance after he imploded Saturday for the loss. The 37-year-old has a 4.78 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP over 26.1 innings. He's done a great job in not issuing any walks over his last six appearances.
