Kevin Acee@sdutKevinAcee15H ago“When it’s time to go, we’re ready to go.” Padres win late again, take series from Giants https://t.co/5UG6IyZk19 -
AJ Cassavell@AJCassavell17H agoFinal: Padres 5, Giants 1 Matt Waldron pitched five excellent innings with seven Ks. The Padres will take that, whether he's taking the mound in the first inning or second. Ty France's two-run, pinch-hit triple put San Diego on top. Xander Bogaerts tacked on a two-run homer. -

AJ Cassavell@AJCassavell17H agoTy France came off the bench and hit a two-run triple. Xander Bogaerts came off the bench and hit a two-run homer. The Padres' bench usage (today's pitch clock violation aside) has been excellent all season. They now lead 5-1. -
AJ Cassavell@AJCassavell18H agoLooked like the Padres weren't ready to pinch-hit for Sung-Mun Song after the Giants went to left-hander Matt Gage. Song was at the plate before Ty France emerged from the dugout, and the Padres had to take a pitch-clock violation just to get France to the plate. -
AJ Cassavell@AJCassavell18H agoGavin Sheets hit one to the cove on the bounce. It was just foul. A pitch later ... no bounce. Into the water, on the fly. Padres lead 1-0. https://t.co/drv3yxK1aK -
AJ Cassavell@AJCassavell20H agoGame 36: Padres at Giants (Rodriguez vs. Houser), 12:45 p.m. PT at Oracle Park The expectation is for Waldron to follow Rodriguez. Tatis remains in the No. 5 spot. Laureano drops to sixth with Merrill at the top. https://t.co/7Ob5c0HM5E -
AJ Cassavell@AJCassavell23H agoBradgley Rodriguez is starting for the Padres today, potentially as an opener for Matt Waldron. (Just a presumption; the Padres haven’t said as much yet). If so, it’d be the time manager Craig Stammen has employed that strategy. -
Kevin Acee@sdutKevinAcee23H agoBradgley Rodriguez will open for the Padres today. Matt Waldron will pitch as well.
