Despite possessing a longer track record than Locastro at the big-league level, Inciarte's declining production at the plate in recent years might not be enough to make up for the above-average defense and baserunning he typically brings to the table. After submitting a .244 wOBA in 220 plate appearances over his final two seasons in Atlanta, Inciarte didn't show much improvement this spring, going 4-for-25 at the dish during Grapefruit League play.

The team evidently decided they'd rather pay him to not play than keep him around. It's hard to argue with that decision considering that his .592 OPS in limited action this season isn't much better than his .512 mark from last year, though it's notable that the 30-year-old isn't deemed worthy of a roster spot even on a squad that's already lost fellow outfielders Ronald Acuna (knee) and Marcell Ozuna (not injury related).
