Blue Jays' Dalton Pompey: Remains in organization
Pompey cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
Despite his former prospect hype, it's not particularly surprising that Pompey went unclaimed on waivers, as he's now 26 years old and has yet to establish himself at the highest level. He'll remain in the Blue Jays' organization but doesn't appear to be particularly close to his next big-league opportunity.

Pompey (concussion) was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Tuesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Once a promising prospect, Pompey's career has been derailed by multiple concussions. The 26-year-old has gotten into 64 big-league games over parts of four seasons, hitting .221/.289/.372. Blue Jays' Dalton Pompey: Hitless in first game at Triple-A
Pompey (concussion) went 0-for-4 with an RBI and a strikeout in his first rehab game with Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.
Pompey was moved up to Buffalo as a part of the next step in his rehab assignment. The 26-year-old has had an unfortunate history of concussions over the years and is currently battling back from his latest one, which he suffered in spring training. In his four prior stints with the Blue Jays, he only surpassed 100 plate appearances once and failed to hit better than .230 in three out of his four seasons. Pompey, who is now out of minor-league options, will be deep on the outfield depth chart, if he's not DFA'd immediately upon activation.

Blue Jays' Dalton Pompey: Begins rehab assignment
Pompey (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday in the Gulf Coast League, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
He will be the designated hitter, playing in his first game of the year after suffering a concussion in spring training. Given the amount of time he has missed, it would not be surprising if this rehab assingment lasted weeks, not days. Pompey does not have any minor-league options remaining, so he will need to join the active roster when activated.

Blue Jays' Dalton Pompey: Moves to IL
The Blue Jays placed Pompey (concussion) on the 7-day injured list Monday.

Blue Jays' Dalton Pompey: Knee injury not concerning
Manager Charlie Montoyo said that Pompey (knee) should rejoin the Blue Jays' Grapefruit League lineup Wednesday versus the Orioles or Thursday versus the Yankees, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
Per Keegan Matheson of TheScore.com, Pompey has been dealing with some knee soreness since Friday, when he fouled a ball off himself. Blue Jays' Dalton Pompey: Getting extended look in spring
Pompey started in center field in Sunday's 9-8 exhibition loss to the Orioles and went 2-for-3 with a home run and stolen base.
Pompey has been included in both of the Blue Jays' first two lineups of the Grapefruit League slate. The outfielder is out of minor-league options and hasn't received more than 400 plate appearances in any of the past three seasons while contending with a variety of injuries, giving the Blue Jays some extra incentive to take a long look at him this spring. Even if Pompey performs well enough to earn a spot on Toronto's Opening Day roster, the switch-hitting 26-year-old will most likely be in line for a reserve gig.
