Kyle Roller: Released by Rays
Roller was released by the Rays on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Roller hit just .216/.316/.377 in 50 games with Triple-A Durham this season, and the team decided to send him packing after his trip to the disabled list rather than make room on the roster. He's spent the entirety of his time at Triple-A in each of the last two seasons, but has yet to crack a major league roster and is starting to run out of chances at 28 years old.

Rays' Kyle Roller: Reassigned to minor league camp
Roller was reassigned to minor league camp Saturday.
As a non-roster invitee, Roller had a strong showing in Rays camp this spring with a .429 batting average and four RBI over 14 at-bats. However, with Opening Day looming, the Rays needed to trim down their roster and made a series of moves Saturday. The 27-year-old first baseman saw his batting average take a major dip at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season, going from .283 to .232. He'll likely start the season at Triple-A Durham.

Rays' Kyle Roller: Signs minor league contract with Rays
Roller signed a minor league contract with the Rays with an invite to spring training, Marc Tompkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Roller spent the last two seasons with the Yankees Triple-A affiliate. The 27-year-old swatted 14 home runs and drove in 59 RBI last season, helping him post a .729 OPS. He'll likely serve as organizational depth with plenty of other options ahead of him at first base in Tampa Bay.
