Tigers' Ian Krol: Pitching well lately
Krol tossed a scoreless inning in Sunday's loss to Cleveland and has now gone eight straight appearances without allowing a run.
The eight appearances translate to 8.2 innings, and despite allowing nine hits and three walks during that span versus just six strikeouts, Krol has been able to keep the opposition off the board. The 30-year-old may have a hard time continuing the scoreless streak if he keeps putting runners on at a decent clip without a ton of strikeouts, but he's at least gotten off to a good start with the Tigers this year after not pitching in the majors since 2018. Krol should maintain a middle relief role with a chance at more high-leverage work at some point if he keeps stringing together clean outings.

Tigers' Ian Krol: DFA'd by Tigers
The Tigers designated Krol for assignment Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Krol was out of options, so a DFA was the only way to remove him from the active roster and clear a spot for Michael Fulmer (neck). After being called up July 7, the lefty allowed two runs in 4.2 innings while striking out four and walking two. Given his decent results, Krol could find himself back in the big-league bullpen this season if injuries or trades create another opening.
