Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Finally goes deep at Rogers Centre
Guerrero went 4-for-5 with a double and a solo home run during Sunday's 8-1 win over the Orioles.
Guerrero's lack of power at the plate has been one of the bigger disappointments of the 2026 season, with all eight of his home runs prior to Sunday coming on the road. However, the 27-year-old first baseman bucked that trend by taking Trevor Rogers deep to left field, which was sandwiched between solo homers from George Springer and Kazuma Okamoto. Guerrero also tied a season high with four hits, and perhaps this latest outing will be a sign of things to come for the slugger over the final two weeks of the regular season.

Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Big night in Cleveland
Guerrero went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and five RBI during the Blue Jays' 11-0 win over the Guardians on Wednesday.
Guerrero has performed well below expectations this season, but the Blue Jays are surely hoping that Wednesday's performance is a sign of things to come for the 27-year-old first baseman. He put Toronto on the board early with an RBI double before belting a three-run homer in the second inning. Guerrero's RBI single in the sixth brought him up to five runs driven in -- his most in a game since his six-RBI showing against the Yankees on June 29, 2024 -- and it also brought him up to 1,200 hits in his major-league career. The Blue Jays will need more of this version of Guerrero -- who still has just a .693 OPS through 125 games this year -- as the team pushes for a playoff spot.

Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Activated from IL
The Blue Jays reinstated Guerrero (concussion) from the injured list Saturday.
Guerrero cleared concussion protocol Thursday, and after going 1-for-1 with a pair of walks, an RBI and a run scored during a tune-up game at Single-A, he'll return to the active roster ahead of Saturday's game against the Yankees. Davis Schneider was sent down to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Guerrero has cleared concussion protocol and will play a rehab game with Single-A Dunedin on Thursday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Guerrero went through a full on-field workout Wednesday and bounced back well, clearing the way for him to get in some at-bats in the minors Thursday. As long as he comes out of that contest with no setbacks, Vlad Jr. will be activated from the 7-day injured list when first eligible ahead of Saturday's game versus the Yankees.

Guerrero (concussion) will go through a full workout Wednesday and is targeting a return to the Blue Jays' active roster Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.
Guerrero landed on the 7-day concussion injured list last weekend but is on track for activation when first eligible. He went through a light workout Tuesday and will ramp up the intensity with a full workout Wednesday. Guerrero could play a rehab game with Single-A Dunedin on Thursday or Friday before returning Saturday, assuming all checks out well.

Guerrero (concussion) participated in a light on-field workout Tuesday that included activation drills, jogging and higher-intensity running, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
It's unclear where exactly Guerrero stands in his recovery from a concussion, but the workout Tuesday is an indication that he's making at least some progress. The 27-year-old landed on the 7-day injured list Saturday and will be eligible to return this weekend versus the Yankees, though it's unclear if he's expected to be fully cleared by that time.

The Blue Jays placed Guerrero on the 7-day concussion IL on Saturday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Guerrero suffered the concussion after colliding with George Lombard while sliding into third base during Friday's contest. He'll now be forced to sit out until at least Aug. 22, leaving Charles McAdoo and Kazuma Okamoto as the remaining candidates to start at first base for the Blue Jays. Daz Cameron will come up from Triple-A in a corresponding move to round out Toronto's bench depth.

Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Exits early Friday
Guerrero was removed from Friday's game against the Yankees with an apparent head injury, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Guerrero was seemingly hit in the head by George Lombard's knee while sliding into third base in the sixth inning. Guerrero managed to quickly get up and score on a throwing error, but he was wincing in pain as he jogged off the field and didn't come out on defense in the seventh. The Blue Jays will presumably evaluate him for a concussion and provide an update on his health in the near future.

Guerrero (hamstring) returned to action Saturday evening against the Phillies and homered in his first at-bat against Aaron Nola.
Guerrero has been nursing hamstring and back issues in the midst of a terribly disappointing season. The homer Saturday night was his seventh of the season -- all on the road. With two hits in his first four plate appearances Saturday night, his slugging percentage remains paltry at .359.

Guerrero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, with manager John Schneider noting that the first baseman is "dealing with hamstring tightness and other stuff," Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Schneider didn't seem to be concerned that Guerrero would miss time beyond Wednesday, as the 27-year-old's absence from the lineup looks to be a maintenance day more than anything. Though Guerrero appeared to be uncomfortable after running out a groundball in Tuesday's 7-2 loss, Schneider said after the game Guerrero was "just tight, tired" and that it was "nothing major," per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. Kazuma Okamoto will man first base and bat second for Toronto in the series finale in Houston.
