Yardley signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Yardley spent all of 2022 at the Triple-A level, collecting a 5.79 ERA over 37 appearances in the Blue Jays and Cubs organizations. The 32-year-old sidearmer has posted a 3.52 ERA across parts of three major-league seasons but struggled during his most recent stint in the big leagues in 2021 with a 6.75 ERA and 5:10 K:BB in 18.2 frames.

Blue Jays' Eric Yardley: Catches on with Jays
Yardley agreed to a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.
Yardley will move on to his second organization of the season after the Cubs released him from his minor-league deal earlier this month. The 31-year-old right-hander, who made 17 MLB appearances with the Brewers in 2021, had given up nine earned runs on 12 hits and three walks over 4.2 innings at Triple-A Iowa this season before the Cubs cut him.

Yardley was hit by a shot up the middle during Friday's contest and underwent X-rays following the game. However, the X-rays came back negative, so he appears to have avoided a serious injury. Manager Craig Counsell said that the team will evaluate his status again Saturday to determine when he could be available to return.

Yardley was not particularly sharp Sunday, hitting a batter and allowing two inherited runners to score and tie the game. However, he did not allow an earned run of his own and found himself in position to grab the win when the Brewers scored the decisive run the next inning. Yardley has already pitched nine times this season, and he has been a steady middle-relief option for the Brewers, allowing just one earned run over 9.1 innings (0.96 ERA) and posting a respectable 1.18 WHIP.
