The outfielder would add a third RBI with a double in the fourth en route to his first career five-hit game. The 26-year-old Sanchez had gone just 1-for-16 in five contests coming into Tuesday. He's slashing .252/.309/.424 with 17 homers, 62 RBI, 52 runs scored and 14 stolen bases across 489 plate appearances this season.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Out against left-hander

Sanchez is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Nationals. It's lefty Mitchell Parker on the hill for the Nationals, so the left-handed-hitting Sanchez will begin this one on the bench. The Marlins are going with Kyle Stowers, Cristian Pache and David Hensley in their outfield.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Rejoining lineup Friday

Sanchez (back) is batting cleanup as the designated hitter Friday against the Phillies, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports. The 26-year-old sat out one game after he exited Tuesday's contest due to back spasms, but he's back in the lineup following Thursday's team off day. Sanchez is hitting .379 (11-for-29) with a double, two homers, three steals, 10 RBI and three runs in his past 10 games.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Sanchez (back) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Nationals. Sanchez had to depart Tuesday's contest with mild back spasms. He's expected to be fine, but with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the hill for Washington, it makes sense for the left-handed-hitting Sanchez to take the day to rest. Kyle Stowers and Griffin Conine will hold down the corner outfield spots for the Marlins.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Exits early Tuesday

Sanchez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Nationals due to mild back spasms, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. Sanchez lined a single into center field in the second inning but had to be removed after tweaking his back while stealing second base. His injury is being described as mild, however, so there's still a chance he returns to the Marlins' lineup Wednesday.

Sanchez isn't in the Marlins' lineup Friday versus the Giants. Left-hander Blake Snell will toe the slab for San Francisco, so the left-handed bat of Sanchez will step out of Miami's starting nine Friday. David Hensley will get the starting nod in right field instead and bat sixth.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Knocks homer in win

Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Cubs. This was Sanchez's first homer in nine games, a span in which he's hitting just .207 (6-for-29) with three RBI. Sanchez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports. • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Launches 480-foot blast

Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's loss to the Reds. Sanchez hammered one off reliever Jakob Junis in the sixth inning for his 13th home run this season. Sanchez's 480-foot homer was the longest in the majors this season, but it wasn't even the longest of his career, as he hit one 496 feet back in May of 2022. The 26-year-old broke out of a stretch of 11 games without a homer, and since the Marlins latest fire sale at the trade deadline, he's one of the few potent bats remaining in their lineup.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Reaches 10-homer mark

Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Astros. Sanchez has gone 8-for-24 (.333) with three homers and five RBI over his first seven games in July. The outfielder had all of three long balls in June, so it's unclear if he'll be able to sustain his recent uptick in power. For the season, he's at a .240/.291/.407 slash line, 10 homers, 34 RBI, 26 runs scored and six stolen bases over 279 plate appearances. Sanchez is in a strong-side platoon role, primarily starting in right field or at designated hitter while competing with Dane Myers and Josh Bell for at-bats.

It was the second straight three-hit effort for Sanchez, who had been struggling with a .171 average in 11 contests prior to the productive two-game stretch.

Sanchez will serve as Miami's designated hitter and bat fourth Saturday against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Sanchez was left out of the Marlins' initial lineup for Saturday's contest, but he'll now enter the starting nine after Vidal Brujan (undisclosed) was scratched. Sanchez has gone 9-for-36 with three home runs, six RBI and six runs scored over his last 10 games.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Getting Saturday off

Sanchez isn't in the Marlins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies. The lefty-hitting Sanchez will sit down for the second game in a row Saturday despite the Marlins being matched up against right-hander Aaron Nola. Sanchez went 3-for-5 with a double, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals. The 26-year-old got the Marlins' offense rolling by taking Lance Lynn deep during the first inning of an eventual 9-8 victory. It was Sanchez's first homer and first multi-hit performance in June, snapping a 13-game swoon in which he'd gone just 8-for-43 (.186) with a 0:15 BB:K. On the season, he's slashing .241/.286/.365 with five homers, six steals, 18 runs and 27 RBI in 65 contests.
