  • Twins' Aaron Sabato: Promoted to Double-A

Sabato has been promoted to Double-A Wichita. Sabato was hitting .226 with 17 home runs and a .799 OPS at High-A Cedar Rapids. Sabato has a high strikeout rate (31.9 percent) but does draw walks (14.5 percent). He'll likely need to make more contact at higher levels to succeed, but the 2020 No. 27 overall pick could continue to advance as a three-true outcomes masher.

  • Twins' Aaron Sabato: Headed to minor-league camp

Sabato was reassigned to minor-league spring training Saturday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Sabato began spring training as a non-roster invitee and went 0-for-9 with a run, a walk and six strikeouts across six Grapefruit League games. He appears likely to start the regular season at High-A Cedar Rapids after he slashed .253/.402/.613 with eight homers, 21 runs and 15 RBI across 22 appearances with the club last year.

  • Twins' Aaron Sabato: Slow start at Low-A

Sabato is hitting .186/.370/.319 through 32 games for Low-A Fort Myers, though he's hitting .286 with a .947 OPS in his last ten games. The 27th overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft got off to a slow start, which may not be a surprise since he didn't play in 2020 due to the pandemic. Despite his struggles, he has an encouraging 20.5 BB%. He needs to make more contact (57.5% contact rate) to continue to improve.
