  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Homers in key win

Keith went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-6 win over the Royals. Keith made his lone hit count, ripping a two-out home run in the fifth inning that brought the Tigers within a run as they mounted a comeback. Detroit is pushing Minnesota for the final playoff spot, and the rookie Keith has been a key reason why. Over his last 12 contests, the 23-year-old is batting .313 with five runs scored and six RBI.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Tallies three hits Saturday

Keith went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles. Keith had three of Detroit's seven hits as a team as Corbin Burnes and two Baltimore relievers mostly cruised through the lineup. The young infielder is batting a robust .318 this month, which has helped push his season average up to a respectable .263. Keith was batting just .154 at the end of April, so he's come a long way during his rookie campaign. The 23-year-old should be set up for a breakout 2025 campaign now that he's seemingly settled in at the MLB level.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Not in Sunday's lineup

Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Keith is mired in an 0-for-14 slump and will sit Sunday for the second time in Detroit's past three games. Zach McKinstry will receive another start at second base while batting seventh.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Drives in three runs

Keith went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's win over the White Sox. Keith singled in a run during the third inning before capping off Detroit's nine-run day with his two-run double in the eighth. It was his ninth multi-hit performance of the month and his seventh over the last 12 games. During that 12-game stretch, he's 19-for-50 (.380), but only four of those hits have gone for extra bases. After some early-season struggles (.595 OPS through the end of June), Keith is now slashing .264/.316/.398 with 29 extra-base hits, seven steals and 51 RBI through 119 games.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Playing Saturday

Keith (hamstring) will serve as the designated hitter and bat in the cleanup spot for Saturday's game against the Yankees. Keith sat out of Friday's contest against the Yankees to recover from lingering soreness in his left hamstring. The 23-year-old appears to be healthy enough to play Saturday, and he will be eased back in as he works as the Tigers' designated hitter. Since the All-Star break, Keith is slashing .234/.280/.330 with seven runs scored, two home runs and six RBI across 100 plate appearances.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Experiencing hamstring soreness

Keith was deemed day-to-day Friday with left hamstring soreness stemming from a cramp he felt Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. He was held out of the Tigers lineup Friday and was described as "banged up" by manager A.J. Hinch, but the team doesn't seem worried that Keith is dealing with anything serious. Zach McKinstry is starting at second base Friday.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Another two-hit game

Keith went 2-for-4 with two runs scored Tuesday in the Tigers' 15-1 win over the Mariners. Keith has produced consecutive two-hit games to begin the four-game series with the Mariners, bringing his slash line up to .253/301/.356 since the All-Star break. Though Keith hasn't provided the power production he demonstrated in the minors in 2023 -- he slugged 27 home runs between Triple-A Toledo and Double-A Erie -- he's made contact at a steady enough clip (17.8 percent strikeout rate) to keep his batting average afloat.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Homers, drives in three

Keith went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and three RBI in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Twins. Keith was retired in his first two at-bats Saturday, but then he tripled and homered in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively. Seven of his 11 home runs this season have come in the month of July, as he's found a home at the top of the Tigers' lineup. Keith is hitting .347 in July and has raised his slash line to .259/.317/.411 this season.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Idle versus lefty

Keith isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays. Left-hander Yusei Kikuchi will toe the slab for Toronto on Saturday, meaning the lefty-hitting Keith will begin the game on the bench. Andy Ibanez will get the nod at second base while batting leadoff.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Huge performance in win

Keith went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 11-9 extra-inning win over the Dodgers. Keith hit a two-run double in the second inning, singled in the sixth and then tied the game on a two-run home run in the ninth. The rookie might not be looking forward to the All-Star break, as he is scorching in July with six multi-hit efforts, five long balls, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored. On the year, he is hitting .253 with nine homers, 37 RBI, 35 runs scored and five steals across 313 plate appearances.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Not starting vs. lefty

Keith is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers. Keith has a .351/.442/.784 slash line with two triples and four homers through his first 10 games in July, but he'll sit Friday as lefty James Paxton takes the mound for Los Angeles. Andy Ibanez will man the keystone and bat leadoff in the series opener.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Tallies two hits, swipes base

Keith went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Reds. He also stole a base. Keith extended his hitting streak to five games, and he's gone 9-for-21 during the stretch with three home runs and a stolen base. The 22-year-old is starting to settle in at the MLB level offensively, plus he's running a bit more than anticipated, as he never stole more than four bases in a season during his time in the minors. Keith is still known more for his power than his speed, but any contribution in the steals category is a welcome bonus.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Goes deep twice Friday

Keith went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three total RBI in Friday's 5-4 win over the Reds. Keith hit a solo blast in the third inning, then followed that up with a two-run shot in the fifth. The 22-year-old now has seven home runs this season, with four of them coming in the last 10 games. During that stretch, he's batting .286 with a .945 OPS. Keith seems to be delivering on his prospect potential after a slow start to the year, and he could be a difference maker in fantasy leagues the rest of the way if he keeps this up.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Receiving breather

Keith is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Philadelphia. Keith had made 10 consecutive starts at second base, but he'll get the day off Tuesday against Ranger Suarez and the Phillies. Instead, Andy Ibanez will bat second and slot in at the keystone. During the 10-game stretch, Keith went 14-for-39 (.359) with a pair of homers and a stolen base.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Raps out four hits

Keith went 4-for-6 with a solo home run and a double in Saturday's 13-5 win over the Astros. Keith tacked on the final run of the game with a homer in the ninth inning. The infielder had struggled early in June, going 4-for-30 over his previous 10 games, though he's racked up seven hits across his last three contests. He's rarely been a source of power in 2024 -- Keith has just three homers, seven doubles and a .315 slugging percentage while batting .235 over 61 games.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Sitting against left-hander

Keith is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals. Southpaw Patrick Corbin is on the bump for the Nationals, so the left-handed-hitting Keith will begin the contest on the bench. Andy Ibanez will handle second base for the Tigers.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Making return to lineup

Keith (knee) will start at second base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Nationals. Keith will slot back in at the keystone after he was excluded from the starting nine in both of the past two games, though he appeared off the bench and went hitless in his lone at-bat in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss. The rookie got off to a rough start to the season but seems to have turned the corner since mid-May, as he's slashing .286/.324/.414 over a stretch of 22 games.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Removed from game after collision

Keith was removed from Saturday's game against the Brewers in the third inning after colliding with Akil Baddoo while tracking down a flyball, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Keith was running full speed toward the foul line in right field and collided with Akil Baddoo as the ball dropped. The second baseman looked to be grabbing at his left leg before walking back to the dugout unassisted. Zach McKinstry replaced Keith at second base.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Goes deep Friday

Keith went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Red Sox. Keith connected for his second home run of the season in the eighth inning against Boston reliever Greg Weissert. After a slow start to the year, the rookie had a torrid May, slashing .342/.388/.493 with both of his home runs and 14 RBI across 24 games. If Keith keeps up this level of performance in June and beyond, he'll be a huge fantasy asset down the stretch.

  • Tigers' Colt Keith: Held out against lefty

Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. The lefty-hitting Keith will take a seat for the series finale while southpaw Yusei Kikuchi takes the hill for Toronto. Andy Ibanez will fill in for Keith at the keystone.
