Brewers' Sal Frelick: Team optimistic about injury
The Brewers don't believe Frelick suffered an oblique strain, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Frelick was grimacing in pain after his fourth-inning single in the second game of Saturday's twin bill, and after a visit from the training staff, he exited the contest with what was described as left side tightness. However, the Brewers don't seem to think it's a new injury; Frelick had been dealing with pain in that area coming into Saturday. Testing will likely be needed to confirm the extent of the issue, but he should be considered day-to-day for now.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Leaves second game of doubleheader
Frelick left the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Royals after hitting a single and then getting visited by team trainers at first base, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Frelick appeared to be grimacing while running out his hit and was removed from the game. He struck out in his prior plate appearance of Game 2 and went 1-for-3 with a walk during the matinee. Brandon Lockridge replaced Frelick in the outfield and would likely have an increased role should an IL stint be necessary.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Exits nightcap with side tightness
Frelick left the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Royals with left side tightness.
Frelick singled in the top of the fourth inning but then left the game after a visit from the training staff. The Brewers have since clarified that it's a left side issue, though the severity of the injury remains unknown. Brandon Lockridge replaced Frelick in the game and could see more at-bats if Frelick is forced to miss additional time.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Goes deep Opening Day
Frelick went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Thursday's 14-2 win against the White Sox.
The 25-year-old has never been known for his power output -- his 12 homers during the 2025 regular season was the highest mark of his professional career -- but Frelick wasted no time going deep this year as he crushed a 407-foot shot to right field off Tyler Gilbert during the fifth inning of the season opener. Frelick likely reached close to his power ceiling last year, but his .288/.351/.405 slash line was strong in its own right, and he's off to a great start to 2026.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Faring well this spring
Frelick is 3-for-10 (.300) with a triple, a steal and a 3:0 BB:K through four games this spring.
Frelick has not been particularly busy early in the exhibition season, but he also has not been limited after playing through a sore knee in 2025. He is set to remain Milwaukee's primary right fielder, and he figures to be a fantasy factor after putting up a .288 batting average, 12 home runs and 19 steals over 590 regular-season plate appearances a season ago.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Imaging on knee comes back clean
Frelick is expected to have a normal offseason after imaging on his left knee came back negative, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Frelick initially tweaked his knee in early May and battled through soreness off and on for the rest of the season, though he never went on the injured list because of the knee issue. He's expected to arrive for spring training at 100 percent after getting some extended rest over the offseason. Frelick had his best season at the plate in 2025, slashing .288/.351/.405 with 12 homers and 19 stolen bases.
