Frelick made an immediate impact in his first game since July 17, driving in two runs with a single in the second inning and reaching base a season-high four times overall. The outfielder had been sidelined for over a month due to a shoulder strain. Prior to the injury, Frelick had struggled to a .630 OPS with four homers, 14 doubles, 34 RBI, 33 runs scored and six stolen bases across 90 games, making Wednesday's three-hit return an encouraging start.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Comes off injured list
The Brewers reinstated Frelick (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, though he's not in the lineup against the Mets, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The outfielder has been on the shelf since just after the All-Star break due to a shoulder strain, and he's now back on the active roster after posting a .951 OPS with four doubles and two homers during a 10-game rehab assignment. Frelick's .631 OPS through 90 games this season would be a career worst, so he may need to improve his offensive production to fend off Luis Lara for playing time.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Returning against Mets
Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that he expects Frelick (shoulder) to return from the injured list during Milwaukee's upcoming series against the Mets, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports.
Murphy said Friday that Frelick would be activated from the injured list in the near future, and although he still doesn't have a firm return date, it's been narrowed down to sometime between Tuesday and Thursday. The 26-year-old outfielder has spent the past couple of weeks on a rehab assignment at Triple-A, going 9-for-32 with two homers, five RBI, seven runs scored and a steal across nine contests.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy indicated that Frelick (shoulder) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday or Saturday but added, "I think you'll see him very soon," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Perhaps not coincidentally, the Brewers are slated to face left-handers Friday and Saturday before taking on a righty in Tyler Mahle on Sunday, which could be the day the lefty-swinging Frelick returns. Out since mid-July with a right shoulder strain, Frelick has gone 9-for-32 with two home runs and a 5:5 BB:K in nine rehab games with Triple-A Nashville.

Frelick began playing in rehab games at Triple-A last weekend and has gone 3-for-11 with three walks and three runs scored over four games, though he has served exclusively as a designated hitter up to this point. Murphy noted that Frelick will likely be limited to designated hitter duty initially on his rehab assignment as he works his way back from a right shoulder strain. Frelick played though shoulder discomfort for much of the season before he finally landed on the 10-day injured list in mid-July. He should return before the end of August if he can avoid a setback.

Frelick also had imaging this week, which did not reveal any new injury beyond a shoulder strain. After a period of rest, the outfielder will do strengthening exercises for his shoulder and rotator cuff. There is no timetable for his return, as the Brewers will wait for Frelick's symptoms to subside before he ramps up baseball activities. Andrew Vaughn has been the biggest playing-time beneficiary from Frelick's absence, drawing regular starts at first base while Jake Bauers plays right field, but it's Luis Lara who is getting the start in right field Friday against the Rockies.
