  • Dodgers' Maddux Bruns: Activated from MiLB injured list

Bruns (back) was activated from the 60-day injured list June 15. Bruns has made two starts for High-A Great Lakes since his return from a back injury, allowing two runs on four hits and five walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings. It seems the club is content to bring him along slowly in his first few appearances, as he hasn't worked more than three innings yet.

  • Dodgers' Maddux Bruns: Recovering from back injury

Bruns is recovering from a back injury in extended spring training, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports. He will be assigned to an affiliate once cleared. Bruns has failed to make significant improvements to his below-average command since entering pro ball and walked 15.6 percent of batters at High-A last year.

  • Dodgers' Maddux Bruns: Bumped to High-A

Bruns was promoted from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga to High-A Great Lakes on Thursday. The 20-year-old southpaw made a return trip to Single-A to start the year and showed significant gains over 21 innings in six starts. Bruns' 14.8 percent walk rate was still quite high, but it represented a significant improvement for him, and his 1.29 ERA and 37.5 percent strikeout rate warranted a bump in competition.
