  • Orioles' Nathan Webb: Won't return this season

Webb will miss the rest of the season after undergoing left Achilles tendon surgery, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Webb had been in the final stages of rehabbing from the Tommy John procedure he underwent in 2023, but he will officially be shut down for the rest of the year as he recovers from his latest surgery. The 26-year-old righty expects to be ready for the start of spring training in 2025.

  • Orioles' Nathan Webb: Throwing bullpens

Webb (elbow) has thrown five bullpen sessions and expects to be ready for game action by early May, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports. Webb had Tommy John surgery last March, so he is getting into the ramp-up phase of his rehab. The right-hander has yet to make his major-league debut, but he should eventually settle in at Triple-A Norfolk this year once he's fully recovered. Webb signed a two-year, minor-league contract with the Orioles in October.

  • Orioles' Nathan Webb: Latches on with Baltimore

Webb (elbow) signed a two-year, minor-league contract with the Orioles on Wednesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. The deal includes an invitation to major-league spring training, although Webb will be limited after having Tommy John surgery in late March. Webb has never appeared in the majors but was on the Royals' 40-man roster at one point. He holds a career 6.11 ERA in the minors but has struck out 301 over 268 innings.

  • Pirates' Nathan Webb: Reassigned to minor-league camp

The Pirates reassigned Webb to minor-league camp Tuesday. Webb struggled mightily on the mound last season to the tune of a 12.24 ERA and 2.51 WHIP across 28.2 frames between Double-A and Triple-A. Between his numbers from last season and his inability to limit baserunners during spring training, it's not a surprise to see him in the minors once again.

  • Pirates' Nathan Webb: Inks MiLB deal with Pittsburgh

Webb agreed to a minor-league contract with the Pirates on Sunday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. The Royals recently declined to tender the 25-year-old a contract for 2023, but it didn't take long for him to latch on elsewhere via a minor-league deal. Webb received an invite to big-league spring training but is a longshot to make the Opening Day roster.

  • Nathan Webb: Denied big-league contract

The Royals declined to tender Webb a major-league contract for 2023. Webb and Jake Brentz were both designated for assignment earlier in the week, and neither were tendered contracts for 2023, making them free agents. Webb was added to the 40-man a year ago almost to the day, but he handed out 20 free passes in 26.1 innings at the Double-A level last season and the Royals decided to move on.

  • Royals' Nathan Webb: Booted from 40-man

Webb was designated for assignment by the Royals on Tuesday. The 25-year-old righty gave up 34 runs in 28.2 innings across Double-A and Triple-A last season, so it's no surprise to see him fall off the 40-man roster. He walked 24 batters over that span, which was his main undoing.

  • Royals' Nathan Webb: Comes off Double-A IL

Webb (undisclosed) was reinstated from Double-A Northwest Arkansas' 7-day injured list Thursday and gave up two runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks in 1.1 innings in his first appearance for the affiliate Saturday. Webb was on the shelf for the first two and a half months of the minor-league season before he was cleared to make his Northwest Arkansas debut. Prior to being activated, Webb made four rehab appearances with the Royals' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.

  • Royals' Nathan Webb: Yet to make season debut

Webb (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Northwest Arkansas on April 12 and has yet to pitch this season. It's unclear what injury Webb is dealing with or when he's expected to take the field. The right-hander was added to the Royals' 40-man roster in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

  • Royals' Nathan Webb: Beginning year at Double-A

The Royals optioned Webb to Double-A Northwest Arkansas on March 21. Kansas City thought enough of Webb to protect him from the Rule 5 draft by adding him to the 40-man roster over the winter, but he's unlikely to reach the big leagues in 2022. The 24-year-old right-hander split the 2021 campaign between Low-A Columbia and High-A Wilmington, producing a 3.94 ERA while striking out 89 batters over 59.1 innings.
