  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Shows power to close season

Ramos went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Tigers. Ramos started 14 games in September after being recalled Sept. 4. He showed some decent pop by collecting three homers and five total extra-base hits in 59 plate appearances. He hit just .208, but a 23.7 percent strikeout rate isn't all that concerning. Ramos should be in position to compete for the starting third base job in 2025.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Sitting in second straight game

Ramos is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels. Ramos is on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Jack Kochanowicz) and may have lost hold of the primary gig at third base. Yoan Moncada (adductor) hasn't been a factor at the hot corner since being activated from the 60-day injured list Monday, but Miguel Vargas will occupy the position for the third day in a row.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: On bench Tuesday

Ramos is not the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels. Ramos has begun seeing regular playing time, having started in seven straight games since Sept. 9. In that span, he went 5-for-26 with two home runs and three walks. With the 22-year-old getting to rest Tuesday, Miguel Vargas has the start at third and is batting ninth.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Should continue to see at-bats

Ramos is expected to see regular playing time even after the return of Yoan Moncada (adductor) from the 60-day injured list, Kyle Glaser of MLB.com reports. Manager Grady Sizemore stated in Monday's pregame press conference that he doesn't have an immediate plan to slot Moncada back into the starting lineup upon his return, and the club would actually like to see what Ramos and Miguel Vargas can do over the last few weeks of the regular season. Ramos is 5-for-21 with two homers, three RBI and four runs scored in seven games since being promoted Sept. 4, and he figures to see consistent playing time at the hot corner or in the DH slot over the remaining 11 games of the 2024 campaign.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Goes deep in win

Ramos went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a double and a walk in Sunday's win over Oakland. Ramos' solo shot in the sixth inning proved to be the game-deciding run. It was his second career home run and both have come in his last six appearances. The rookie third baseman is slashing .209/.250/.343 with five extra-base hits through 22 games.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Swats first big-league homer

Ramos went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Monday in a loss to the Guardians. Ramos was the biggest bright spot in another loss for Chicago, as he swatted a two-run shot to left field in the eighth inning for his first major-league home run. The 22-year-old had been finding big-league pitching hard to figure out prior to Monday, as he was batting just .196 with one walk over 48 plate appearances. Ramos has some pop -- he went deep as many as 22 times in a season (2022) in the minors -- and he could get some increased run down the stretch with the White Sox understandably looking ahead to the future.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Recalled to Chicago

The White Sox recalled Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports. With Brooks Baldwin (wrist) headed for the injured list, the White Sox will call upon Ramos to make up for the lost depth in their infield. The 22-year-old hasn't appeared in a major-league game since late May, though he could have an opportunity to make some starts at third base if Miguel Vargas (eye) continues to sit out.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Rejoins big club

The White Sox recalled Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday. Chicago has been leaning on a combination of Lenyn Sosa (.403 OPS in August) and Miguel Vargas (.420 OPS in August) at third base in recent weeks, but neither player has performed well enough to seize control of an everyday role. Ramos could contend for reps at the hot corner while he's up with Chicago, though he endured similar struggles at the plate during his first taste of the majors back in May. He slashed .196/.208/.239 with a 2.1 percent walk rate and a 16.7 percent strikeout rate in 48 plate appearances for the White Sox before he was optioned to Charlotte on May 30.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Sent back to Charlotte

The White Sox optioned Ramos to Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday. The club will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's game in Milwaukee. Ramos had been 0-for-14 with five strikeouts in five games since returning from a quadriceps injury. The 22-year-old will head back to Charlotte for some more seasoning, and the White Sox will probably now give the bulk of the playing time at third base to Danny Mendick.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Looks out of rhythm

Ramos went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts Sunday against the Orioles. Ramos returned from the injured list Saturday and has started at third base in both of Chicago's games since. He's gone a combined 0-for-7 with four strikeouts that span, a surprising uptick after he struck out only three times across his first 34 big-league plate appearances. Ramos looks to have a clear grip on the job at third base, so he should have the opportunity to regain his rhythm at the dish.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Back in starting lineup Saturday

Ramos is starting at third base and batting sixth against the Orioles on Saturday. Ramos will get right back into the action after being reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday. The 22-year-old infielder was battling a left quadriceps strain, and he played in a couple rehab games with Triple-A Charlotte, going 2-for-4 with one run and two walks. Before landing on the IL, Ramos went 9-for-32 from the plate with four runs and two RBI.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Rehab assignment coming

Manager Pedro Grifol said Saturday that Ramos (quad) will likely being a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte within the next few days, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Ramos has been sidelined since making an early exit from Tuesday's game against Washington due to left quadricep tightness, and he officially landed on the injured list Friday. The 22-year-old was slashing .281/.294/.344 across his first 10 MLB games before getting injured, and Grifol's comments suggest Ramos may be able to return to the lineup when eligible next Saturday.

Ramos went 1-for-3 with a walk Tuesday against the Rays. Ramos has made three straight starts at third base since being promoted to the majors. • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Sent to Double-A

The White Sox optioned Ramos to Double-A Birmingham on Monday. Ramos has yet to play above the Double-A level and was never under serious consideration for a spot on the White Sox's Opening Day squad, despite entering his second season as a member of the 40-man roster. He'll head back to Birmingham to begin the 2024 campaign after he slashed .271/.369/.457 with 14 home runs across 339 plate appearances with the affiliate in 2023.

Double-A Birmingham reinstated Ramos (groin) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday. The 21-year-old made his 2023 debut for Birmingham in Tuesday's 10-6 win over Mississippi, starting at third base and going 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. After battling a groin injury coming out of spring training, Ramos was cleared to head out on a rehab assignment last week with Single-A Kannapolis and went 2-for-16 with a home run.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Starts up rehab assignment

Ramos (groin) began a rehab assignment at Single-A Kannapolis on Tuesday and went 1-for-5 with two runs while playing nine innings at third base. The appearance with the Single-A club marked the season debut for Ramos, who has resided on Double-A Birmingham's 7-day injured list since early April due to a groin issue. Ramos will likely play a handful of games with Augusta before reporting to Birmingham, where he finished the 2022 campaign. Between stops at Birmingham and High-A Winston-Salem last season, the 21-year-old slashed .266/.338/.455 with 22 home runs across 518 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Shifts to 7-day IL

Double-A Birmingham placed Ramos (groin) on its 7-day injured list last Tuesday. Ramos has yet to appear in a game for the Double-A club this season while tending to the groin injury he apparently picked up at some point in spring training. The 21-year-old infielder isn't expected to be in line for a lengthy absence, so he could be ready to make his 2023 debut for Birmingham at some point before the end of April.
