  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Diagnosed with ankle sprain

Perdomo was removed from Saturday's game against the Padres due to a left ankle sprain.

Perdomo tweaked his left ankle while fielding a groundball in the seventh inning, and the injury was severe enough for him to leave the contest. He finished 0-for-3 with a strikeout. The shortstop should be considered day-to-day due to the ankle sprain, with Jose Fernandez and Ildemaro Vargas in line to see more starts at shortstop if Perdomo is to miss time.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Exits Saturday's game

Perdomo left during the seventh inning of Saturday's game against the Padres due to a left leg injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Perdomo appeared to sustain the injury while attempting to field a groundball in the top of the seventh inning, and he was removed from the game after consulting with trainers. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout prior to his exit, with Tim Tawa entering the game at first base while Ildemaro Vargas shifted over to shortstop. The Diamondbacks should have an update on Perdomo's injury once he's further evaluated.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Moved to leadoff

Perdomo batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the White Sox.

Perdomo hit atop the order for the first time this season, as manager Torey Lovullo plans to platoon the shortstop and Ketel Marte at leadoff, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. The two players operated as tandem leadoff batters over the second half of 2025 -- Perdomo against righties, Marte against lefties -- so the roles are nothing new to either player. The move coincides with Perdomo catching fire at the dish; he's hit safely in seven consecutive games, going 13-for-27 with four extra-base hits, two steals, two RBI and four runs scored. As part of the lineup tweak, Corbin Carroll drops from second to third in the order.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Laces pair of triples

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with two triples, a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 11-7 win over the White Sox.

Perdomo has hit safely in his last six games, going 12-for-23 (.522) in that span, which includes all three of his triples this season. The surge has him up to a .260 average and .782 OPS through 23 contests after a slow start. Perdomo has added six stolen bases, six RBI, 11 runs scored, one home run and three doubles on the year. The shortstop broke out with a 20-homer, 100-RBI effort over 161 games in 2025, but he's taken a clear step back in most areas early in 2026.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Finds rhythm at dish

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 6-2 win over Toronto.

It was an uneven performance from Perdomo. He extended a hit streak to four games (8-for-16) but was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double, was nearly picked off first base, and had a defensive miscue that led to the Blue Jays tying the game in the sixth inning. Aside from the negative plays, it's encouraging to see Perdomo's bat finding life after a slow start to the season. His batting average climbed to .229, its highest point since the beginning of the month.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Getting break Sunday

Perdomo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

It's the first game off of the season for Perdomo, who has a .229/.325/.314 slash line though 21 contests. The veteran shortstop went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's victory, though overall it was an up-and-down performance as he was thrown out on the bases twice and also had a key defensive miscue. Manager Torey Lovullo said that Perdomo's absence from the lineup Sunday isn't a punishment but simply an opportunity to get him a much-needed day off, per Alex D'Agostino of SI.com. Perdomo could still make an appearance off the bench.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Swipes two bags in win

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.

All three knocks were singles, but the 26-year-old shortstop quickly got himself into scoring position on two of them. It was Perdomo's first multi-hit performance since Opening Day, and while he's struggling to find his 2025 form at the plate -- he carries a .190/.310/.276 slash line through 18 games with only one home run -- he is at least contributing with his legs, stealing six bags in nine attempts.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Helps in comeback win

Perdomo went 0-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Phillies.

Perdomo, who got on base via a force-out, stole second base and scored the first of two runs in the eighth inning that clinched the comeback victory. The shortstop, who is batting .157 through 16 games, is doing what he can despite the slow start. Over the last five games, during which he's gone 2-for-14, Perdomo has walked six times, stole three bases and scored four runs.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Ends drought

Perdomo went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Mets.

Perdomo's first-inning single snapped an 0-for-13 run. Following a breakout in 2025 when he had 20 home runs and 100 RBI, Perdomo's scuffled to open this season. He's slashing .179/.277/.308 with four RBI through 12 games; at this point last season, the shortstop slashed .293/.347/.415 with 12 RBI.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Provides offense in loss

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Perdomo gave the Diamondbacks the lead with his fourth-inning home run off Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but that was all the offense the team could muster. After the homer, Los Angeles pitching retired 18 of the final 19 Arizona batters. So far so good for Perdomo as he looks to prove that his breakout 2025 season (20 HR, 100 RBI) was no fluke.
