Twins' Caleb Boushley: Pushed off 40-man roster
The Twins designated Boushley for assignment Sunday.
Boushley has now been cast off the Twins' 40-man roster on two occasions, this time to make room on the active roster for utility man Michael Helman, whose contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday. The Twins are hopeful that Boushley will go unclaimed off waivers and remain in the organization as pitching depth at St. Paul. Over 22 starts at Triple-A this season, Boushley has turned in a 4.97 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 94:20 K:BB across 116 innings.

Twins' Caleb Boushley: Optioned to St. Paul
The Twins optioned Boushley to Triple-A St. Paul after Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Boushley was selected from Triple-A ahead of Tuesday's contest, during which he threw two shutout innings, and he'll now head back to the minors in order to clear space for Michael Tonkin, who was claimed off waivers from the Yankees. The 30-year-old Boushley will keep his spot on the 40-man roster, however, leaving open the possibility of a return to Minneapolis before the end of the season.

Twins' Caleb Boushley: Contract selected
The Twins selected Boushley's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
After pushing Trevor Richards off the 40-man roster, the Twins will now call upon Boushley to fill the open spot in their bullpen. The 30-year-old has allowed two earned runs over two innings in the big leagues this season, and he owns a 4.97 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 116 innings (22 starts) in the minors. He'll presumably serve as a long reliever while with the Twins.

Boushley was removed from the 40-man roster over the weekend but has cleared waivers and will stick around in the organization. The 30-year-old has spent virtually all of 2024 at St. Paul, where he holds a 4.68 ERA in 16 starts.

Boushley will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to infielder Diego Castillo, whose contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants. Aside from making a two-inning relief appearance for the Twins on May 20, Boushley has spent the entire 2024 campaign at St. Paul, with whom he's produced a 4.68 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 73:14 K:BB in 84.2 innings. The Brewers optioned Boushley to the Arizona Complex League on Saturday.
Boushley was selected to the active roster Friday and looked solid during his MLB debut, giving up one run while pitching the final 2.1 frames and striking out five batters en route to collecting his first big-league win. He'll continue to work at the Brewers' facility in Arizona and could rejoin the team should Milwaukee's bullpen take a hit during the postseason.
