    The Angels called up Weiman from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday. Weiman will get his second stint in the majors this month. In eight games with the big-league club, Weiman owns a 3.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 8:1 K:BB over nine innings. The Angels optioned Trevor Martin to Salt Lake to free a spot on the active roster for Weiman.

  • Angels' Blake Weiman: Sent back to minors

    The Angels optioned Weiman to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday. Weiman was scored upon in his last three appearances and had pitched each of the last two days, so he's being sent out in favor of a fresh arm. Trevor Martin was summoned from Triple-A to replace Weiman on the active roster and in the bullpen.

  • Angels' Blake Weiman: Takes loss in extras

    Weiman (0-1) allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk over one inning in Tuesday's 8-6 extra-inning loss to the Guardians. Weiman entered the game in the 10th with the score tied at 6-6 and allowed a single to Steven Kwan before Jose Ramirez delivered the decisive blow, driving home two runs with a double. Only one of the runs charged to Weiman was earned due to the automatic runner, but the left-hander was still saddled with his first major-league loss. He now owns a 3.00 ERA in eight relief appearances and has allowed runs in his last three outings.

    The Angels selected Weiman's contract from Double-A Rocket City on Tuesday. Weiman has made only 14 appearances with Rocket City this season due to injury, but he's been effective in allowing five runs (four earned) with a 19:3 K:BB over 15.2 innings.     Weiman signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Friday. Weiman, 28, spent the 2023 campaign at Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners organization, holding a 5.17 ERA and 53:23 K:BB over 54 frames. He has yet to make an appearance at the big-league level and is likely headed to Triple-A Iowa to start 2024.
