  • Pirates' Brandon Eisert: Summoned to majors

Pittsburgh recalled Eisert from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday. After being optioned to Indianapolis last Wednesday, Eisert will rejoin the Pirates less than a week later with Mitch Keller (arm) going on the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Over 32 appearances in the majors this season between stops with the White Sox and Pirates, the left-handed reliever owns a 6.29 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 40:12 K:BB across 34.1 innings.

  • Pirates' Brandon Eisert: Dispatched to minors

The Pirates optioned Eisert to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, Jason Mackey of MLB.com reports. Eisert was needed for 2.1 innings and 41 pitches in Tuesday's extra-innings loss to the Diamondbacks, so he's being replaced by a fresh arm. The lefty holds a 6.29 ERA and 40:12 K:BB over 34.1 innings between the White Sox and Pirates this season.

  • Pirates' Brandon Eisert: Shipped to Pittsburgh

The White Sox traded Eisert and Jacob Gonzalez to the Pirates on Friday in exchange for minor-league reliever Jaden Woods and the 34th pick in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Eisert has struggled to find his footing in the big leagues this season, logging a 5.93 ERA and 1.24 WHIP through 27.1 innings with the White Sox. Unless a change of scenery sparks a significant turnaround, the 28-year-old southpaw is likely to remain in a middle-relief role with the Pirates.

  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Operating as opener Saturday

Eisert will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Phillies, Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network reports. The top half of the Philadelphia lineup often features three tough left-handed hitters in Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh, so the White Sox will have the left-handed Eisert open the contest in an effort to avoid an early deficit. Once Eisert works the first inning or two, right-hander Sean Burke is expected to take over in bulk relief.

He'll provide a fresh relief arm for the nightcap Monday and will presumably be returned to Triple-A once the contest concludes.
