White Sox's Seranthony Dominguez: Signs with ChiSox
The White Sox signed Dominguez to a two-year, $20 million contract Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
There's also a mutual option for 2028, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, and the White Sox plan to use Dominguez as their closer. The right-hander has some modest closing experience, having notched 40 saves in his career, including 11 in 2024 between the Phillies and Orioles. The 31-year-old is coming off a 2025 campaign that saw him collect a 3.16 ERA and 79:36 K:BB over 62.2 regular-season frames between the Orioles and Blue Jays. Dominguez boasts a career 27.9 percent strikeout rate, but free passes (career 10.5 percent walk rate) have been a problem. With Dominguez taking over the ninth inning, previous incumbent closer options Jordan Leasure and Grant Taylor will work earlier in games with a rotation job potentially still in Taylor's future.

Blue Jays' Seranthony Dominguez: Earns win in Game 4
Dominguez was credited with the win over the Yankees on Wednesday in Game 4 of the American League Division Series. He allowed one walk without a strikeout over 1.2 hitless and scoreless innings.
Dominguez followed Louis Varland and Mason Fluharty in a bullpen game for Toronto and ultimately earned the win, sending Toronto to the ALCS. Acquired from the Orioles at the trade deadline, Dominguez has fit in nicely with the Blue Jays. The veteran righty posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and eight holds in 21 regular-season innings after coming over from Baltimore, and he's now up to 3.1 scoreless innings this postseason.

Blue Jays' Seranthony Dominguez: Hammered in loss
Dominguez (2-4) allowed five runs (three earned) on two hits and a walk in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Royals. He did not record an out.
Dominguez entered a 2-2 contest in the 10th inning and was immediately greeted with an RBI double by Kyle Isbel on the first pitch of the frame. Dominguez then hit Jonathan India, walked Bobby Witt on four pitches and had his outing come to an end after Tyler Tolbert's two-run single. It was Dominguez's fourth appearance as a Blue Jay after throwing 3.1 scoreless frames in his first three outings. His season ERA jumped up to 3.60 with a 58:25 K:BB through 45 innings.

Blue Jays' Seranthony Dominguez: Notches first hold for new club
Dominguez struck out two in a perfect eighth inning to record a hold in Wednesday's win over the Orioles.
Facing the team that traded him away between the games of Tuesday's doubleheader, Dominguez got some immediate revenge by fanning Tyler O'Neill and Jordan Westburg to protect a 9-8 lead. The veteran righty has a 1.21 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB through 22.1 innings since the beginning of June, and he'll be one of the top setup options for Toronto's stretch run in front of closer Jeff Hoffman.

Blue Jays' Seranthony Dominguez: Traded to Blue Jays
The Blue Jays acquired Dominguez from the Orioles in exchange for Juaron Watts-Brown between games of Tuesday's doubleheader in Baltimore, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
It ordinarily takes a couple days for a new player to join their new team, but Dominguez will be able to simply swap clubhouses in the middle of Tuesday's twin bill. The right-hander was expected to be in the mix for saves in Baltimore with Felix Bautista (shoulder) on the IL, but he should fill a setup role for Toronto. Dominguez has a 3.24 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 54:24 K:BB across 41.2 innings this season.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Candidate for saves
Dominguez is a candidate for save chances while Felix Bautista (shoulder) is out, although interim manager Tony Mansolino indicated Thursday that he doesn't think he'll have a set closer, Brendan Mortensen of MASNSports.com reports.
Dominguez notched 10 saves for the Orioles last season after being acquired at the trade deadline and has added two more saves this season. The 30-year-old has posted a 3.40 ERA with 51 strikeouts over 39.2 frames in 2025, but walks (24) have been an issue. Andrew Kittredge, Gregory Soto and Yennier Cano could also be in the mix for saves while Bautista is sidelined, but Dominguez is the guy to target on the waiver wire.
