Player Outlook
Jacob Reimer, a fourth-round pick out of high school in 2022, broke out in 2025 as a 21-year-old splitting the year between High-A and Double-A. He slashed .282/.379/.491 with 17 home runs, 15 steals, an 11.1 percent walk rate and a 21.5 percent strikeout rate in 122 games. Reimer was slightly better at High-A (19.4 K%, 163 wRC+) than at Double-A (23.6 K%, 150 wRC+), but he was masterful at both stops. Reimer played 16 games at first base last year and probably won't be any better than average at third base, so he'll need to mash in order to play regularly, especially for a first-division team. In addition to his patience and solid swing decisions, Reimer has plus raw power and an optimized lift (39.4 GB%) and pull (51.0 Pull%) approach. He's not on the 40-man roster and it seems that Ryan Clifford and Ronny Mauricio are better positioned for a shot this summer if there's an injury, but Reimer could hit his way into the mix.

High-A Brooklyn reinstated Reimer (hamstring) from its 60-day injured list Monday. Reimer is finally ready to make his 2024 debut for Brooklyn after the Mets' High-A affiliate placed him on the shelf coming out of spring training due to a strained hamstring. The 20-year-old slashed .250/.400/.313 with two extra-base hits (both doubles) over an 11-game rehab assignment between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A St. Lucie.

  • Mets' Jacob Reimer: Out with pulled hammy

Reimer is on the 60-day injured list with High-A Brooklyn due to a pulled hamstring, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports. Reimer logged high on-base percentages as a 19-year-old at Single-A and High-A last season, but he only hit seven home runs with three steals in 100 games. He is expected back in early June, per Dykstra.
