Triple-A Toledo reinstated Flores (shoulder) from its 60-day injured list Thursday.
Flores hasn't appeared out of the bullpen in either of Toledo's two games since his activation, but he appears to be healthy again after a shoulder injury had kept him on the shelf all season. The right-hander appeared to be trending toward a return in late August after he made four rehab appearances in the Florida State League last month, but he may have incurred a minor setback that prompted Toledo to delay his activation a few more weeks.

The Tigers announced Wednesday that Flores (shoulder) is playing catch daily but has yet to advance to completing bullpen sessions in his throwing program, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Flores didn't pitch at all in spring training after he received a platelet-rich plasma injection shortly after reporting to camp to alleviate soreness in his right shoulder. After being moved off Detroit's 40-man roster in the offseason, Flores will need to return to full health and perform well in the upper levels of the minors before popping back up on the radar for a call-up.

Flores has been rehabbing a shoulder injury this spring and was given a platelet-rich plasma injection in January to address some soreness. He was likely to begin the season at Triple-A Toledo anyways, but his lack of Grapefruit League playing time probably sealed the deal. Flores will provide organizational depth this season.

Flores was non-tendered by the Tigers in November following a 2024 campaign which saw him post a 7.84 ERA while being limited to just 31 innings because of shoulder trouble. The 23-year-old finished the season healthy and was considered a top-100 prospect a couple years ago, so retaining him on a minor-league deal looks like a no-brainer for the Tigers.
