Rumfield went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Twins. Rumfield recorded a pair of infield hits to scrape together another productive performance. He has five consecutive two-hit games and is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak -- five of which have come on the road -- during which he's gone 26-for-66 (.393) with five homers, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored. Rumfield continues to piece together an impressive rookie campaign, hitting .294 with a .377 wOBA across 328 plate appearances.

Rumfield went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Pirates. Rumfield put a big dent in a seven-run deficit with his eighth-inning blast, but the Rockies' comeback ultimately fell short. The first baseman has hit consistently and for power lately, going 15-for-42 (.357) with five homers and 13 RBI over his last 11 games. For the season, he's batting .279 with an .842 OPS, 12 long balls, 42 RBI, 34 runs scored, 14 doubles and two triples over 75 contests.

The long ball was his third over a red-hot seven-game span during which Rumfield has batted .357 (10-for-28) with eight extra-base hits and seven RBI. The hot stretch has pushed his season OPS up to .821, third best among qualified MLB rookies.

Rumfield went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Cubs. Rumfield got the Rockies on the board with his eighth-inning blast. Prior to Wednesday's game, he had gone 0-for-13 with three walks over his previous four contests, and this was his first multi-hit effort since May 30 versus the Giants. The first baseman is batting .269 with a .776 OPS, eight homers, 31 RBI, 27 runs scored, 10 doubles and one triple over 65 contests this season.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Homers in return to lineup

Rumfield went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Angels. Rumfield was held out of the lineup Monday due to shoulder inflammation after leaving Sunday's contest early. He worked as the designated hitter Tuesday and delivered a long ball in the fourth inning, going back-to-back with Willi Castro. Rumfield is batting .286 with an .817 OPS, eight homers, 30 RBI, 24 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and no stolen bases through 59 games this season. It's not clear when he'll return to playing first base, but his fantasy managers will be fine as long as he can continue to at least serve as DH.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Back in action Tuesday

Rumfield (shoulder) will serve as the designated hitter and bat third Tuesday against the Angels. Rumfield was pulled early from Sunday's contest with shoulder inflammation and missed out on the starting nine Monday, but he later entered the game as a pinch hitter. He'll now return to the lineup and look to turn things around after going just 3-for-15 across his last seven games.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Absent from Monday's lineup

Rumfield (shoulder) is not in the Rockies' starting lineup against the Angels on Monday. Rumfield is dealing with right shoulder inflammation, which caused him to be scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Giants. He's not ready to return for Monday's series opener, so Edouard Julien will start at first base and bat seventh against the Halos.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Managing shoulder inflammation

Rumfield was removed from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants due to right shoulder inflammation, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports. The 26-year-old was scratched just before the start of Sunday's game, so it's unclear when exactly he picked up the injury. Rumfield should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener against the Angels.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Scratched from starting nine

Rumfield was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants due to an unspecified reason. Initially slated to man first base and bat third, Rumfield was removed the starting nine just minutes prior to the game's 3:10 p.m. ET start time. Expect the Rockies to provide an explanation behind Rumfield's late scratch later Sunday. Willi Castro will wind up picking up the start at first base in place of the 26-year-old rookie.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: In Wednesday's lineup

Rumfield (hand) will start at first base and bat third Wednesday against the Dodgers. Rumfield was hit on the hand by a pitch in Monday's contest and didn't play Tuesday, but he's been given the green light to return for Wednesday's series finale. The 26-year-old rookie has been one of the most productive members of Colorado's lineup this season and is slashing .345/.441/.517 with five RBI and four runs across his last 10 games.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Clubs homer in loss

Rumfield went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. Rumfield's blast got the Rockies within a run in the eighth inning, but they failed to tie the game. The first baseman has gone 14-for-36 (.389) with two homers and six RBI over his last 11 games, and he's added a 5:4 BB:K in that span as his plate discipline continues to trend up. Rumfield is hitting .289 with an .819 OPS, seven homers, 27 RBI, 22 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over his first 52 games in the majors.

Rumfield went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday against the Padres. Rumfield drove in one run with a single in the fourth inning, and he followed that up with a run-scoring double four frames later. He's struggled mightily since a hot start to the season, collecting only eight hits across his last 51 at-bats with six RBI and one run scored. Positively, Rumfield has only struck out 16.8 percent of the time across 95 plate appearances to begin the season.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Taking seat versus lefty

Rumfield is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers. The left-handed-hitting Rumfield was included in the lineup when the Rockies last faced a lefty starter (Colton Gordon) on Tuesday in Houston, but he'll cede first base to Troy Johnston while Colorado goes up against Dodgers southpaw Justin Wrobleski in the series opener. Rumfield has gone 2-for-11 with a pair of base hits and a 0:1 BB:K versus left-handed pitching this season.

  • Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Homers in win Sunday

Rumfield went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Phillies. After Mickey Moniak took Taijuan Walker deep for a solo shot in the bottom of the first inning, Hunter Goodman singled before Rumfield swatted a two-run shot to give Colorado an early 3-0 lead. Rumfield has fared well at the plate in his first nine career big-league games to begin the 2026 season, slashing .345/.406/.586 with two home runs, five RBI, four runs scored and a 3:7 BB:K across 32 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' T.J. Rumfield: Contract officially selected

The Rockies selected Rumfield's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Manager Warren Schaeffer announced Sunday that Rumfield made Colorado's Opening Day roster, and the first baseman has now officially been added to the big-league club. The 25-year-old is now on the cusp of his MLB debut and is expected to see regular action at first base after posting a .913 OPS with five homers in 23 spring training games. He spent last season at the Triple-A level with the Yankees, where he had a .285/.378/.447 slash line in 138 contests.

  • Rockies' T.J. Rumfield: Shipped to Colorado

The Rockies acquired Rumfield from the Yankees on Wednesday in exchange for Angel Chivilli, Jack Curry of YES Network reports. Rumfield has been a quality performer the last two seasons in the minors, finishing the 2025 campaign with a .285/.378/.447 batting line, 16 home runs and a 70:108 BB:K over 138 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He appeared unlikely to get much of an opportunity with the Yankees, at least not in 2026, but in Colorado, Rumfield could compete for the Opening Day first baseman job. Rumfield is not currently on the 40-man roster.

  • Yankees' T.J. Rumfield: On fire at Triple-A

Rumfield is slashing .370/.450/.575 with five home runs, an 11.4 percent walk rate and a 12.8 percent strikeout rate in his last 32 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. A 25-year-old lefty-hitting first baseman, Rumfield doesn't have a clear path to playing time in the majors, but he's doing everything he can to make noise in his second season at Triple-A. Rumfield has the hit tool to profile at the bottom of the defensive spectrum, but he may not have the power, as he has a career .443 slugging percentage and has a .189 ISO this season while being an old-for-the-level first baseman.
