  • Twins' Walker Jenkins: Out with Grade 2 shoulder sprain

Jenkins was diagnosed Monday with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder and will be re-evaluated in 10 days, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Jenkins sustained the injury after crashing into the center field wall while making a catch during Sunday's Triple-A contest. The 21-year-old outfielder will likely need a stint on the 7-day IL, and St. Paul should provide clarity on a recovery timeline once Jenkins' shoulder has had some time to heal. One of Minnesota's top prospects, Jenkins is slashing .256/.396/.389 with five steals and two home runs across 111 plate appearances with St. Paul this season.

  • Twins' Walker Jenkins: Suffers shoulder injury

Jenkins suffered a left shoulder injury and was removed from Sunday's contest with Triple-A St. Paul in the sixth inning, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.

Jenkins crashed into the center field wall while making a catch with two outs in the top of the sixth inning, and he was promptly removed from the contest while favoring his left shoulder. The 21-year-old is considered to be the Twins' No. 1 prospect and the No. 11 overall prospect in MLB Pipeline's Top 100, and he's produced a .256 average with two home runs, nine RBI, 15 runs scored and five stolen bases over 90 at-bats in 25 contests with St. Paul this season. More information on the outfielder's status will likely be provided in the near future.

  • Twins' Walker Jenkins: Being eased into action

Jenkins (hamstring) went 1-for-4 with a run scored Friday in Triple-A St. Paul's 4-2 win over Indianapolis. Jenkins will play only seven innings in games throughout the next week as part of his buildup from a hamstring strain, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

After sustaining a Grade 1 left hamstring strain early in spring training, Jenkins didn't see any Grapefruit League action after Feb. 28 but was able to avoid a stint on St. Paul's injured list to begin the season. Because he missed considerable time in spring training, Jenkins will be eased into action early in the season. Jenkins sat out Saturday and is expected to be limited to playing seven innings in games throughout the next week before being cleared for full nine-inning games beginning April 7, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic.

Jenkins (hamstring) is expected to be ready for the start of the Triple-A St. Paul Saints season, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Jenkins was diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain March 1, but he could return to play in a minor-league game this week. The 21-year-old received a taste of the Triple-A level late last year and has a decent chance of making his MLB debut at some point in 2026.

The Twins reassigned Jenkins (hamstring) to minor-league camp Wednesday.

Jenkins entered camp as a long shot to make the Opening Day roster, and a Grade 1 left hamstring strain suffered this past weekend sealed his fate. The top prospect should debut at some point during the 2026 campaign.

Jenkins is without an official timeline for his return, but the injury could affect his availability for the start of the Triple-A season. The 21-year-old received a taste of the Triple-A level late last year and has a decent chance of making his MLB debut at some point in 2026.

  • Twins' Walker Jenkins: Returning to action at Double-A

Double-A Wichita reinstated Jenkins (ankle) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Jenkins is expected to be included in the Wichita lineup for Tuesday's series opener versus Arkansas in what will be his first appearance for the Double-A club since April 6. The outfield prospect missed just over two months due to the left ankle sprain he suffered in first week of the season but has rejoined Wichita after completing an extended rehab assignment in the lower levels of the minors. Between stops in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Fort Myers, Jenkins slashed .269/.441/.385 with one home run and two stolen bases in nine games.
