Brewers' Trevor Megill: Collects fifth save
Megill struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Twins.
Megill's ninth-inning opportunity came after manager Pat Murphy elected to use Abner Uribe in the eighth. Both relievers have struggled with consistency this season and own an ERA above 4.60, so it's unlikely the Brewers are ready to abandon their closer-by-committee approach.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Picks up second hold Tuesday
Megill struck out one in a perfect sixth inning Tuesday to record his second hold of the season in a 12-4 win over the Tigers.
The Brewers were ahead 3-1 when the right-hander took the mound, but it was still far from the ninth-inning usage Megill is used to seeing. His performance was encouraging, as he fired 10 of 14 pitches for strikes, but his 9.00 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB through eight innings on the season remain sketchy. For now, Abner Uribe appears to be the top closing option for manager Pat Murphy, at least until Megill puts together a sustained run of success.

Brewers' Abner Uribe: Clutch save against Miami
Uribe earned the save in the Brewers' 5-2 win over the Marlins on Saturday, recording the final two outs of the ninth inning.
The Brewers held a 5-1 lead going into the ninth, and manager Pat Murphy initially elected to keep Jake Woodford in the game after the latter pitched a scoreless eighth. Woodford proceeded to load the bases on three-straight singles, prompting Murphy to turn Uribe to record the final two outs. Uribe got Agustin Ramirez to groundout into a fielder's choice that drove in a run, but the right-hander came away with the save after retiring Javier Sanoja. Both of Uribe's saves have come over his last three outings, but Trevor Megill may not have been available Saturday -- he worked the prior two days and converted his previous save chance Friday. Uribe and Megill appear to be splitting ninth-inning work, at least for now.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Earns fourth save
Megill earned the save in Friday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Marlins, allowing one unearned run on one hit while striking out two in the 10th inning.
Megill was tasked with protecting a three-run lead in the bottom of the 10th inning and did so despite allowing a run to score on a wild pitch. After yielding seven earned runs across consecutive appearances April 10 and 14, he's now picked up a hold and a save in back-to-back solid outings. Angel Zerpa and Abner Uribe, who earned the team's previous two saves, worked the eighth and ninth innings in that order Friday, so Megill's outlook as the team's closer remains murky for now.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Another poor outing
Megill blew his save chance during Tuesday's 9-7 extra-inning loss to Toronto. He allowed three runs on three hits and one walk and failed to strike out a batter over one inning.
After giving up one run while converting three saves through his first four outings of the season, Megill has now been roughed out his last two times out, yielding seven runs and putting seven runners on base while recording just three outs. Per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, manager Pat Murphy acknowledged after Tuesday's loss that the Brewers may consider a change at closer, though the skipper said that no immediate decision has been made. Abner Uribe notched seven saves for Milwaukee in 2025 and would appear to be the next man up if the Brewers go in a different direction at closer, though he's been shaky of late with at least one run allowed in three of his last four appearances. Angel Zerpa (6.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP in nine innings) has recorded the Brewers' lone save this season that hasn't gone to Megill.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Implodes in ninth, takes loss
Megill (0-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing four runs on two hits without recording an out.
With the game tied 3-3, Megill came on for the top of the ninth inning. He hit CJ Abrams with a pitch, allowed a bunt single to Joey Wiemer, surrendered an RBI single to Luis Garcia, threw the ball away on a sacrifice bunt by Jorbit Vivas and then Milwaukee was unable to get an out on a safety squeeze by Drew Millas. After five batters and nine pitches, Megill's night was over. Megill entered play Friday with a 2.25 ERA but now will take an 11.25 ERA and 5:3 K:BB across four innings into his next appearance.
