Angels' Chuckie Robinson: Traded to Halos
The Angels acquired Robinson from the White Sox on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.
The White Sox have acquired Kyle Teel and Matt Thaiss over the last week, so they had a surplus of catching depth. With Logan O'Hoppe and Travis d'Arnaud projected to be the Angels' catching duo in the majors, Robinson is likely to begin the 2025 season as depth at Triple-A Salt Lake.

White Sox's Chuckie Robinson: Retreats to bench Monday
Robinson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.
After filling in behind the plate for a resting Korey Lee in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Mets, Robinson will return to his usual bench role for the series opener in Baltimore. Since getting called up from Triple-A Charlotte on July 19 to replace Martin Maldonado as the White Sox's No. 2 catcher, Robinson has picked up just 12 starts while batting .152 with no extra-base hits.

Robinson went 1-for-3 against the Royals on Saturday.

White Sox's Chuckie Robinson: Recalled from Triple-A
The White Sox recalled Robinson from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
The 29-year-old is taking over as the backup catcher behind Korey Lee after Martin Maldonado was designated for assignment. It's a partial promotion for Robinson, as he's now on the 40-man roster but will remain with Charlotte for the time being as organizational catching depth. Robinson has put together a .234/.288/.386 slash line with six home runs in 41 games at Triple-A so far this season. Outfielder Duke Ellis was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

White Sox's Chuckie Robinson: Latches on with White Sox
Robinson signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Dec. 7.
Robinson appeared in 25 games with the Reds in 2022, but he spent all of last season with Triple-A Louisville, where he slashed .290/.356/.450 with 13 homers and 74 RBI across 413 plate appearances. He gives Chicago some organizational depth behind the plate.

Chuckie Robinson: Becomes free agent
Robinson elected free agency Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Robinson holds a career .136 batting average and .407 OPS in 60 total major-league plate appearances, but he put up a respectable .806 OPS with 13 homers and 74 RBI across 101 games this past season with the Reds' Triple-A affiliate in Louisville. The 28-year-old should draw some interest from teams seeking organizational depth at the catcher position.

Robinson appeared in 25 games for the Reds a season ago, struggling to a .136 average with two homers, five RBI and three runs scored. He'll have a shot to make the Opening Day roster during spring camp but will likely need to beat out Tyler Stephenson (collarbone) or Luke Maile to do so.

Robinson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.
Robinson will sit for the third time in four games and looks as though he'll close out the season as the Reds' No. 2 backstop behind Austin Romine. The 27-year-old rookie is slashing .107/.107/.196 over his first 57 big-league plate appearances and could be a non-tender candidate this winter.

Reds' Chuckie Robinson: Poaching work from Romine
Robinson will start at catcher and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Pirates.
Despite going 0-for-5 in his last two games to drop his season-long batting average to .106, Robinson will get the nod at catcher over Austin Romine for the third time in four contests. Both Robinson and Romine could soon lose out on opportunities, as Aramis Garcia (finger) began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville over the weekend and could be activated from the 60-day injured list in the coming days.

Reds' Chuckie Robinson: Sits again Friday
Robinson will sit for Friday's game against the Brewers.
Robinson appeared to be atop the Reds' catcher depth chart by the slimmest of margins, starting seven of 12 games over the last two weeks. He's now sat in favor of Austin Romine in two straight contests, however. Given Robinson's .115/.115/.231 slash line in his first 10 major-league games, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him remain on the bench.

Reds' Chuckie Robinson: Sitting Sunday
Robinson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Robinson made his MLB debut Wednesday and proceeded to start in three of the Reds' last four games, going 2-for-10 with a run scored. Though the 27-year-old backstop may not have a long-term future in the big leagues, he looks like he may be given a look as the Reds' primary option at the position with Tyler Stephenson (collarbone) lost for the season and Aramis Garcia (finger) facing an uncertain timeline for a return. The 34-year-old Austin Romine will get a turn behind the dish Sunday, but since he'll be a free agent after the season, the Reds may view Robinson as more of a priority.
