  • Yankees' Angel Chivilli: Sent to Yankees

The Yankees acquired Chivilli from the Rockies on Wednesday in exchange for T.J. Rumfield, Jack Curry of YES Network reports. Chivilli has managed just a 6.18 ERA and 71:33 K:BB over 90.1 innings covering two major-league seasons. However, the 23-year-old ranked in the 88th percentile in fastball velocity, the 84th percentile in groundball rate and had whiff rates exceeding 40 percent with both his changeup and slider. There could be some untapped potential for Chivilli as he gets out of Colorado and into the Yankees' pitching development.

  • Rockies' Angel Chivilli: Hit hard in loss

Chivilli (1-3) allowed four earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one across two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Tuesday against the Cardinals. Chivilli has experienced plenty of success during his first sample in the majors, as he had a 1.96 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with a 22:8 K:BB across his last 22 appearances entering Tuesday's contest. His implosion was untimely, however, with the Rockies trying to find a closer with Tyler Kinley (elbow) sidelined. Chivilli was used in the eighth inning of a tie game, which suggest he'll stick in a setup role for the final week of the season.

  • Rockies' Angel Chivilli: Blows save, takes loss

Chivilli (1-2) allowed one earned run on one hit and no walks while striking out one to take the loss and blow the save Tuesday against the Marlins. Chivilli entered the game in the ninth inning with runners on second and third and the Rockies holding onto a two-run lead. Tyler Kinley began the frame and imploded to allow four earned runs, but Chivilli still had the chance to close the door on the win. Instead, he served up a three-run home run to Jesus Sanchez. Since being recalled to the majors Aug. 1, Chivilli has maintained a 2.77 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with an 11:3 K:BB across 13 frames and has quickly found himself in a high-leverage role.

The rookie owns 4.70 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB across 15.1 innings and could see more save chances depending on the severity of Vodnik's injury.
