  • Astros' Raynel Delgado: Heading to Triple-A

    The Astros optioned Delgado (finger) to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. Delgado will give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to fellow infielder Braden Shewmake (adductor), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. During his latest stint in the big leagues, Delgado appeared in appeared in three games and went 1-for-5 with a double, a walk and a run. Delgado exited early in a start during last Wednesday's loss to the Twins due to dislocated pinkie finger on his right hand, but he made a pinch-hitting appearance and played an inning at shortstop in Friday's loss to the Rays and should be ready to handle an everyday role at Sugar Land.

  • Astros' Raynel Delgado: Back in majors

    The Astros recalled Delgado from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. The 26-year-old was optioned to Sugar Land on Monday but will quickly return to the majors since Jeremy Pena (calf) landed on the injured list. Delgado received his first promotion to the majors in mid-June and is batting .280 (7-for-25) with a homer, four RBI and two runs in his first 13 games.

  • Astros' Raynel Delgado: Logs first MLB homer

    Delgado went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Tigers. Making his first start in four games with Jose Altuve getting the day off, Delgado put the Astros on the board in the seventh inning with his two-run blast off lefty Tyler Holton, cutting the deficit to 3-2. It's the first home run for Delgado in his first 27 major-league plate appearances. The 26-year-old infielder has gone 7-for-25 (.280) with a .708 OPS, four RBI and two runs scored in 13 games with Houston.

    Delgado went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Tigers. Delgado put the Astros ahead 3-2 in the eighth inning with his two-run single off Will Vest. The 26-year-old Delgado has appeared in two games with Houston since he was acquired from Tampa Bay last week, going 3-for-7. Delgado slashed .249/.316/.360 with 24 steals in 61 Triple-A games this season.

    The Astros selected Delgado's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday. Delgado was acquired via trade from the Rays earlier this week and now has been added to the major-league roster. The infielder has slashed .250/.320/.362 with three homers and 24 steals this season at Triple-A Durham. Delgado will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

    Delgado signed a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Rays on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Delgado spent the entire 2025 season with the Brewers' Triple-A affiliate, slashing .281/.363/.378 with 53 RBI, 58 runs scored and 40 stolen bases across 474 plate appearances. The 25-year-old infielder has yet to make his big-league debut but will get a chance to compete for a roster spot during spring training.

  • Brewers' Ray Delgado: NRI deal from Milwaukee

    The Brewers signed Delgado to a minor-league contract Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The 24-year-old slashed .275/.365/.426 with nine homers and 22 stolen bases over 93 games with Triple-A Columbus in the Guardians organization in 2024. Delgado has not appeared in the majors but will get a shot in big-league camp with the Brewers.
