  • Rockies' Owen Miller: Shipped to Colorado

The Brewers traded Miller to the Rockies on Saturday in exchange for cash, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Miller spent the majority of 2024 with Triple-A Nashville, where he slashed .274/.353/.382 with 36 RBI across 385 plate appearances. He'll have a better chance of getting back to the majors as part of the Rockies organization, though he will first need to be added to the 40-man roster.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Brewers sent Miller outright to Triple-A Nashville on Friday. Miller was dropped from Milwaukee's 40-man roster Monday but will remain with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 27-year-old has slashed .257/.340/.377 through 200 plate appearances with the Sounds, and although he hasn't performed as well at the plate in the majors, his defensive versatility still gives him some value as an organizational depth piece.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Exits 40-man roster

The Brewers designated Miller for assignment Monday. The 27-year-old has spent most of his time this season in the minors, having slashed just .185/.185/.222 across 27 plate appearances during his time in the majors in 2024. Miller offers some defensive versatility and has flashed at times offensively, so it's possible he draws some interest via trade or waivers.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Sent back to Nashville

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Friday. Miller was recalled from Nashville earlier in May to provide depth as Rhys Hoskins (hamstring) headed to the injured list. Now that Hoskins is back, Miller will be pushed back to Triple-A. The 27-year-old infielder has slashed .185/.185/.222 across 27 big-league plate appearances this season, but he figures to be on the shortlist for a return to Milwaukee should the Brewers run into more depth issues.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Returns to majors

The Brewers recalled Miller from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. With Rhys Hoskins (hamstring) headed for the injured list, Miller will come up from Nashville to give the Brewers additional bench depth. Miller will likely platoon with Jake Bauers at first base while Hoskins is out, though Miller's defensive versatility could allow him to make an occasional start elsewhere.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Optioned to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. Miller has appeared in seven games for the Brewers this season, tallying just one hit in 12 at-bats while striking out five times. He'll be forced back to the minors following the addition of Tyler Black to the big-league squad, though Miller could return to Milwaukee if the Brewers need to call on their organizational infield depth.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Recalled from Nashville

The Brewers recalled Miller from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. With Christian Yelich (back) headed for the IL, Miller will come up from the minors to give the Brewers an additional bench piece that is capable of fielding numerous positions. The 27-year-old has gotten off to a strong start at Triple-A, slashing .353/.414/.451 through 58 plate appearances, though his stint in Milwaukee will likely come to an end once Yelich comes off the injured list.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Sent to minor-league camp

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports. Miller moved between the majors and minors with the Brewers last season and had a .674 OPS in 90 big-league games. Barring some infield injuries for Milwaukee late in camp, the 27-year-old will open 2024 at Nashville, where he had a .283/.336/.472 slash line last year.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Makes roster for wild-card round

Miller is on the roster for the Brewers' NL Wild Card Series matchup against Arizona. This comes as a bit of a surprise given that Miller spent the final three weeks of the regular season with Triple-A Nashville, but the Brewers have decided to roll with 15 position players -- and only 11 pitchers -- in their best-of-three series versus the Diamondbacks. Miller, 26, batted .261/.303/.371 with five homers and 13 steals across 90 major-league games this season.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Heads back to Nashville

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Monday. Miller was moved off the 28-man active roster to clear room for third baseman/designated hitter Josh Donaldson, who was called up from Nashville after joining the Brewers on a minor-league deal less than two weeks earlier. The Brewers brought Miller back from Triple-A as one of their September call-ups, but he logged just four plate appearances in total during his latest stint with the big club.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Back in majors

The Brewers recalled Miller from Triple-A Nashville on Friday. As MLB rosters expand to 28 players, Miller will give the Brewers another option in the infield as they push for the postseason. With Andruw Monasterio in a major slump at the plate, it's possible Miller ends up seeing regular action at third base, but he's also capable of playing first base, second base or in the outfield.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Banished to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. Miller's demotion comes after he was on the bench for each of the past six games after losing hold of an everyday role following the Brewers' acquisition of Carlos Santana. The 26-year-old had been one of Milwaukee's better hitters over the first two months of the season, but he struggled mightily in July, slashing .178/.212/.247 on the month. He'll look to get back on track while playing regularly in Nashville and could end up settling into a short-side platoon role for the Brewers if he's brought back later in the season.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Sitting in fourth straight game

Miller is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. Miller had been filling in as the Brewers' everyday first baseman in place of the injured Rowdy Tellez (finger), but he appears to have lost his grasp on that role after Milwaukee acquired Carlos Santana on Thursday. With Santana in the fold and recent Triple-A Nashville call-up Abraham Toro also picking up more work in the infield, Miller has become the odd man out of the lineup. Miller will hit the bench for the fourth game in a row and looks poised to serve as more of a utility man moving forward.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Records 13th steal

Miller went 1-for-3 with one RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Atlanta. Miller is batting just .194 (12-for-62) in July, and he's not helping his cause with a 4:16 BB:K. The versatile 26-year-old continues to fill a regular role at first base while Rowdy Tellez (forearm) is out of action. Miller's posted a .271/.311/.386 slash line with 13 steals, five home runs, 27 RBI and 29 runs scored across 82 contests this season, but he may slip back into a platoon if he can't pick up the pace soon.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Takes seat Friday

Miller is not in the lineup Friday against Atlanta. Victor Caratini will play first base and Andruw Monasterio is at third as the Brewers face off against right-hander Charlie Morton. Miller has slashed just .254/.300/.389 in 200 plate appearances this year versus righties.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Supplies clutch hit in extras

Miller went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Guardians. Miller showed out in a big way against his former team, notching an RBI-double in the third and then another double to score Joey Wiemer in the 10th that wound up being the difference in the game. It was an encouraging effort from the 26-year-old, after he came into the day slashing just .188/.233/.203 in 73 plate appearances during June. His playing time is starting to slip as a result, though he's still seemingly being slotted towards the top of the order when in the lineup after batting second Sunday.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Out again Saturday

Miller isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against the Guardians. Miller's 1-for-25 slump at the plate since June 13 will cost him yet another start Saturday. Luis Urias will get the nod at second base while Brian Anderson moves to the hot corner and Raimel Tapia starts in right field.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Sitting Friday

Miller isn't in the Brewers' lineup Friday against the Guardians. Miller is just 1-for-22 in his last eight games and will take a seat Friday amid his slump. Luis Urias will shift to second base in Miller's place, moving Brian Anderson to third base and Raimel Tapia in as Milwaukee's right fielder, batting seventh.

  • Brewers' Owen Miller: Day off Saturday

Miller isn't starting Saturday against the Pirates. Miller is 0-for-11 with five strikeouts across his last three games, so he'll receive Saturday off to regroup. Luis Urias will take over at the keystone in Miller's place, moving Brian Anderson into third base which allows Raimel Tapia to make his first start as a Brewer in right field while batting sixth.
