Antonacci went 2-for-5 with a home run, a triple and three total RBI in an 11-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Antonacci's first major-league homer was certainly out of the ordinary, as he laced a ball down the third-base line that appeared to touch the ball person, causing Arizona's left fielder to come to a halt. The ball remained in play, and Antonacci circled the bases, crossing home plate easily. This was easily the most productive game of his young career, as Antonacci came into Tuesday slashing .125/.300/.125 with no extra-base hits or RBI over his first five big-league contests.

The White Sox had sent some mixed signals over the weekend regarding whether or not Antonacci would be in line for a promotion to the majors, but after further deliberation, the organization has elected to move the 23-year-old up to the big-league squad. Antonacci forced the White Sox's hand after a red-hot start to the season at Triple-A Charlotte, with whom he produced a .313/.500/.479 slash line, two home runs and five stolen bases while striking out in just 11.9 percent of his 67 plate appearances. Though Antonacci should get the chance to play regularly against right-handed pitching, it's unclear if he'll have a home at any one position or fill more of a super-utility role. He's seen the bulk of his starts in left field this season but has also received reps at all four infield spots since entering the professional ranks in 2024.

The White Sox have discussed the option of calling up Antonacci from Triple-A Charlotte, but the team has "nothing in motion as of yet" in terms of promoting him, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Multiple sources reported Saturday that the White Sox were planning to select Antonacci's contract ahead of their three-game home series versus the Rays that begins Tuesday, but Levine relays that the organization has merely considered a promotion for the 23-year-old at this stage. Even if he isn't in line to get called up during the upcoming week, Antonacci likely won't have to wait much longer before making his big-league debut. He's gotten off to a sizzling start through his first 13 games with Charlotte, slashing .289/.484/.444 with two home runs and five steals while striking out just seven times in 63 plate appearances.

White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Slated to be called up Tuesday
The White Sox are expected to select Antonacci's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Elijah Evans of JustBaseball.com reports.
Antonacci has blazed through the minors since being drafted in 2024, and in 12 games with Charlotte this season he's slashing .299/.445/.419 with two home runs, six RBI and four stolen bases. Power isn't expected to be a primary asset -- he went deep just five times over 520 plate appearances across three levels in 2025 -- but he has a potentially elite hit tool and plenty of speed, racking up 48 thefts in 58 attempts in the minors last season. He was strictly an infielder last season, but he's played mostly in left field in 2026 and could see ample time at that position with the White Sox, especially since Austin Hays (hamstring) recently landed on the injured list.
