Cardinals' Brian Holiday: Finally makes pro debut
Holiday (elbow) was assigned to Single-A Palm Beach on Tuesday after allowing five runs with an 11:2 K:BB over 9.2 innings with the Cardinals' Florida Complex League affiliate.
A third-round pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Holiday finally made his professional debut after recovering from May 2025 Tommy John surgery. Slated to turn 23 on Friday, Holiday was seen as a high-floor, quick-moving college pitcher when drafted, but the Cardinals will bring him along slowly as he coming back from elbow surgery.

Holiday (elbow) is throwing bullpen sessions in the Cardinals' camp, Brian Walton of TheCardinalNation.com reports.
A third-round pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Holiday has yet to make his professional debut following Tommy John surgery last May. The right-hander remains in the rehab phase and is likely looking at a season debut around June 1.

The Florida Complex League Cardinals placed Holiday (undisclosed) on the full-season injured list May 3.
It's not clear what injury Holiday is dealing with, but it will prevent him from making his professional debut this season. The 21-year-old was a third-round pick by the Cardinals in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.

Single-A Palm Beach placed Holiday on the injured list with an undisclosed injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.
Holiday, the Cardinals' third-round pick last year, has yet to make his pro debut. He logged a 2.95 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 128 strikeouts in 113 innings in 2024 for Oklahoma State.
