  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Earns first career save

Rodriguez allowed one hit and struck out two over a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Friday's 7-5 win over the Guardians. Rodriguez was called upon to protect a two-run advantage and responded with the first save of his major-league career. The right-hander allowed a double to Brayan Rocchio but bounced back and closed out San Diego's victory with back-to-back strikeouts. Friday's save doesn't signal a change atop the bullpen hierarchy, as Mason Miller will remain the Padres' closer. Still, Rodriguez has worked his way into San Diego's late-inning mix and owns a 2.09 ERA across 50 appearances and 55 innings in 2026.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Moved to ACL

The Padres optioned Rodriguez to the Arizona Complex League on Friday. The Padres have been planning to get Rodriguez some time off to rest, per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, so the team will send him all the way down to rookie ball while he does so. The 22-year-old righty owns a 2.10 ERA and 1.19 WHIP across 34.1 innings with the Friars this season, so he'll likely return to San Diego's bullpen once he's well rested. Mason Miller was activated from the bereavement list in a corresponding move.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Serving as opener Wednesday

Rodriguez will serve as the Padres' opening pitcher in Wednesday's game versus the Cardinals, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Rodriguez will cover the first inning or two before turning the ball over to Griffin Canning, who will be utilized in bulk relief. The 22-year-old Rodriguez boasts a 2.16 ERA this season but has been scored upon in four of his last five appearances.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Working as opener Tuesday

Rodriguez will be the Padres' opening pitcher Tuesday in Milwaukee, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Rodriguez opening up for knuckleballer Matt Waldron worked well last week against the Giants, so the Padres will run that strategy back. The 22-year-old Rodriguez has fanned only 14 batters in 19.2 innings this season but has managed a 1.83 ERA and 1.02 WHIP.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Recalled to San Diego

The Padres recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday. Rodriguez has spent the vast majority of the season in the minor leagues, though he already has one MLB outing under his belt -- a 1.2-inning scoreless appearance against the Pirates on May 31. Since then, he's posted a 3.14 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 14.1 frames at El Paso, and he'll now provide the Padres with some extra bullpen depth for the final few weeks of the regular season. JP Sears was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Officially promoted

The Padres selected Rodriguez's contract from Double-A San Antonio on Friday. Rodriguez will make the jump from Double-A directly to the big leagues after posting a 3.22 ERA and 0.90 WHIP alongside a 31:5 K:BB across 22.1 innings at San Antonio. He'll replace Kyle Hart in the Padres' bullpen and is likely to work in middle relief to begin his MLB career.

  • Padres' Bradgley Rodriguez: Call-up coming Friday

Rodriguez is expected to be called up from Double-A San Antonio by the Padres on Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. The right-hander is one of San Diego's top relief prospects and is poised to make the jump from Double-A straight to the majors, avoiding an extreme hitter's park at Triple-A El Paso. Rodriguez has a 3.22 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB across 22.1 innings with San Antonio this season.
