Top Blake Burke News

  • Brewers' Blake Burke: Erupting at Double-A

Burke went 18-for-46 (.391) with six home runs, five doubles, 26 RBI, three stolen bases and a 1:6 BB:K over his last 11 games with Double-A Biloxi.

Burke went throw a slow stretch after hitting six home runs over his first six games of the season, but he has gotten hot again in a big way. The 23-year-old now has 18 long balls, 18 doubles, 17 steals and an .899 OPS on the season -- marks that only solidify his stance as one of Milwaukee's better prospects.

  • Brewers' Blake Burke: Mastering Double-A

Burke has a .289/.372/.789 slash line with six home runs, three steals, a 9.3 percent walk rate and a 25.6 percent strikeout rate in nine games for Double-A Biloxi.

Burke leads all hitters below Triple-A with six homers, and while it may seem logical to bump the 22-year-old first baseman to Triple-A, the Brewers already have notable first-base prospects Brock Wilken, Luke Adams and Tyler Black on the Triple-A Nashville roster. Even so, Burke's production dating back to last year (177 wRC+ in 37 games at Double-A) is more impressive than what the trio blocking him have put together, so he should get the bump in competition one way or another in the coming weeks.

  • Brewers' Blake Burke: Unlocks power at Double-A

Burke is slashing .308/.382/.558 with eight home runs and 27 RBI in 32 games for Double-A Biloxi.

The lefty-hitting first baseman cut his groundball rate from 52.4 percent at High-A to 45.5 percent at Double-A, and his game power has taken off as a result. Burke, who was promoted from High-A Wisconsin to Biloxi on Aug. 2, will face significant internal competition for playing time in the coming years, as first rounders Brock Wilken and Andrew Fischer are also most likely to end up at first base and Andrew Vaughn is under club control through the 2027 season. Still, Burke, who turned 22 in June, has opened eyes with his performance for the Shuckers and he may not require a full 2026 season's worth of development in the upper levels before his bat is big-league ready.
