  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Little pop in spring

Vaughn has only one extra-base hit across 26 at-bats in Cactus League action.

Vaughn has seven hits this spring, leading to a decent .269 average. The lack of pop could be a concern, though he's been very consistent across his four big-league seasons by posting ISOs between .156 and .171 in each campaign. Vaughn doesn't appear to have much upside heading into the 2025 season -- especially considering the state of the White Sox's lineup -- but he should be a near everyday player hitting in the middle of the order.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Avoids arbitration hearing

Vaughn signed a one-year, $5.85 million contract with the White Sox on Thursday to avoid arbitration, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Vaughn had a career-worst .699 OPS over 149 games in 2024 but will still receive a sizable raise in his second year of arbitration eligibility. The 26-year-old should open 2025 as Chicago's primary first baseman, but his opportunities could shrink if he continues to regress.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Logs three hits

Vaughn went 3-for-4 with a two-RBI single and a run scored during Thursday's 7-0 win over the Angels.

All seven runs scored by the ChiSox came in the fifth inning, and Vaughn started the scoring by plating Dominic Fletcher and Miguel Vargas on an RBI single. Vaughn came around to score in the frame on a Lenyn Sosa double. In September, Vaughn is 25-for-78 (.320) with four home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Stays hot Wednesday

Vaughn went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Angels.

The first baseman took Jack Kochanowicz deep in the fourth inning to get the White Sox on the board. The blast added to Vaughn's impressive September, and he's batting .345 (19-for-55) on the month with four homers and eight RBI in 14 games. It's been a roller coaster of a season for the 26-year-old, but he now sits one long ball short of his second straight 20-homer campaign.
