Red Sox's Isaiah Campbell: Loses 40-man roster spot
Rotowire
The Red Sox designated Campbell (elbow) for assignment Tuesday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Campbell missed the second half of 2024 with elbow inflammation and never got surgery, so the injury may have played a role in him losing his spot on the 40-man roster as Boston looked to protect some prospects from the Rule 5 draft. Campbell had a 2.20 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and a 19:5 K:BB in 14 appearances at Triple-A, but he gave up 12 earned runs in 6.2 MLB innings and his fastball velocity was down to 93.8 mph from the 95.0 mph he averaged in 2023 with Seattle.

Red Sox's Isaiah Campbell: Sent back to Triple-A
Rotowire
The Red Sox optioned Campbell to Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Campbell's stay with the Red Sox lasted for just three days, with the right-handed reliever getting tagged for three earned runs while recording just one out in his lone appearance during Monday's 7-6 win over the Blue Jays. The 26-year-old has been effective in his 11 appearances with Worcester this season, logging a 2.19 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 12.1 innings. Despite his lack of success in the big leagues this season, Campbell should still rank near the top of the list for a call-up when the Red Sox require an extra bullpen arm.

Red Sox's Isaiah Campbell: Placed on injured list
Rotowire
The Red Sox placed Campbell on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right shoulder impingement, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Campbell gave up six runs in one inning during Thursday's loss against Baltimore, and his shoulder injury could help explain his poor performance. He'll now be sidelined for the next couple of weeks, and Bobby Dalbec will come up from Triple-A Worcester to take the right-hander's spot on the active roster.

Mariners' Isaiah Campbell: Grabs first big-league win
Rotowire
Campbell (1-0), promoted from Double-A Arkansas earlier in the day, got the win against the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing a hit and a walk while also hitting a batter over one-third of an inning.
The right-hander extended his career-opening scoreless appearance streak to four games with Saturday's eventful outing, which saw him escape a jam largely of his own making in the seventh by getting George Springer to ground out into an inning-ending fielder's choice. Campbell then became the pitcher of record when the Mariners mounted a five-run rally in the home half of the frame, affording him delayed gratification for what had been an impressive first 3.2 scoreless innings of his career over three appearances before a brief demotion Wednesday.

Rotowire
Campbell (elbow) is scheduled to start High-A Everett's season opener Friday versus Eugene, Everett radio broadcaster Pat Dillon reports.

The 24-year-old will be returning to Everett after he submitted a 2.33 ERA and 0.99 WHIP across 19.1 innings with the affiliate last season before being shut down.
