Twins' Mike Paredes: Logs 4.2 innings in no-decision
Paredes did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on four hits, no walks and a hit batsman over 4.2 innings against the Rangers. He struck out two.
Paredes left with the Twins leading but fell one out shy of qualifying for the win. The right-hander generally did a solid job of keeping the Rangers' offense in check, though Joc Pederson got the better of him with a two-run shot in the third inning. Paredes has now made two starts and two relief appearances, with Monday's start representing his longest outing to date, though each of the four appearances has lasted at least three innings. Across 15 frames, the 25-year-old owns a 4.20 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB with the big-league club this season. If Minnesota opts to keep Paredes in the rotation and continue building up his workload, his next start lines up for Sunday against Arizona.

Twins' Mike Paredes: Getting another start
Paredes will start Monday's game against the Rangers in Arlington, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Paredes made two long relief appearances for Minnesota before faring well in his abbreviated first major-league start last week in Detroit, striking out four over three innings of one-run ball. The 25-year-old had made seven starts and two relief appearances with Triple-A St. Paul this season, posting a 3.38 ERA and 33:8 K:BB over 34.2 innings. Paredes hasn't thrown more than 68 pitches in an appearance at any level this season, so he's unlikely to pitch deep into Monday's contest.

Twins' Mike Paredes: No-decision in first start
Paredes allowed a run on one hit and two walks with four strikeouts over three innings during Wednesday's win against the Tigers. He did not factor in the decision.
Paredes stepped into a starting role for the Twins after two long-relief outings to begin his big-league career. The 25-year-old set a season-high in strikeouts and now has a 4.35 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB across 10.1 major-league innings. Parades has not pitched more than five frames with Triple-A St. Paul or the Twins this season, so his potential upside as a starting pitcher is limited until he can work deeper into games.

Twins' Mike Paredes: Drawing first big-league start
Paredes is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Tigers in Detroit, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Before receiving his first big-league call-up May 31, Paredes had mostly been working out of the rotation at Triple-A St. Paul, with whom he produced a 3.38 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB in 34.2 innings. Though he's worked out of the bullpen over his first week and a half with the Twins, Paredes has been able to stay stretched out by making a pair of 3.2-inning appearances in long relief. He'll be pitching on five days' rest Wednesday, so Paredes should be capable of giving the Twins plenty of length in his first big-league start before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Twins' Mike Paredes: Receives call to big leagues
The Twins selected Paredes' contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.
Paredes has mostly operated as a starter for St. Paul with 10 starts in 13 appearances this season, and he could step into Minnesota's open rotation spot if he's not needed in long relief the next few days. The 25-year-old turned in a 4.44 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 54:9 K:BB across 48.2 innings at Triple-A.
