Giants' Drew Cavanaugh: Multi-hit effort in win
Cavanaugh went 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in Friday's 7-0 win over the Mariners.
Cavanaugh singled in the fifth inning before coming around to score, and he added another base hit in the seventh. He also drew walks in the third and sixth innings. The 24-year-old catcher has recorded two multi-hit performances over his last four games and is now slashing .265/.390/.265 with two RBI and two runs scored in 42 plate appearances this season. He's expected to operate as Daniel Susac's primary backup moving forward.

Giants' Drew Cavanaugh: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Cavanaugh is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Blue Jays.
The Giants and Blue Jays have a matinee Wednesday, so Cavanaugh will get a breather after starting at catcher Tuesday night. Eric Haase will be behind the dish in the rubber match.

Giants' Drew Cavanaugh: Fifth straight start versus righty
Cavanaugh will start at catcher and bat ninth in Friday's game versus the Rockies.
The Giants have faced five right-handed pitchers since Cavanaugh's promotion last week, and the lefty-swinging catcher has started all of them. Righty hitter Eric Haase has started both contests against lefties during that span, and it appears the two backstops will form a strict platoon while Daniel Susac (back) is shelved.
