  • Rajon Rondo: Confirms his retirement

During an appearance on the All Smoke Podcast, Rondo confirmed that he's officially retired from the NBA. "Yeah, I'm done," Rondo said. "I can't. I'd rather spend time with my kids." Rondo had quite the career, spending time with nine different NBA teams with combined averages of 9.8 points, 7.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals across 957 games. He played a total of 16 seasons with his most recent stint coming with the Lakers and Cavaliers in 2021-22. Rondo was a four-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion, earning rings with the Celtics in 2007-08 and the Lakers in 2020.

  • Cavaliers' Rajon Rondo: Nine dimes at Brooklyn

Rondo provided seven points (3-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt), three rebounds and nine assists over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 115-108 loss to the Nets. Rondo was the only guard the Cavaliers brought off the bench, and he played his usual role as a facilitator. Darius Garland and Caris LeVert will get plenty of chances to handle the ball, but Rondo has more experience in playoff settings and should continue to garner significant minutes as long as Cleveland remains alive.

  • Cavaliers' Rajon Rondo: Drops season-high 13 dimes in win

Rondo supplied six points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds, 13 assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Sunday's 133-115 victory over Milwaukee. Rondo logged more than 20 minutes of court time for the first time in months, and re responded with a great number from his wheelhouse category. With Darius Garland recording only 23 minutes and an ineffective night from Caris LeVert, Rondo took on a larger role but isn't a dependable daily fantasy option at this juncture.

  • Cavaliers' Rajon Rondo: Slots in as backup point guard

Rondo (ankle) finished with six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two assists, two steals and one rebound across 14 minutes Sunday in the Cavaliers' 112-108 loss to the 76ers. Back in action after an 11-game absence, Rondo stepped back in as the primary backup to starting point guard Darius Garland, replacing Brandon Goodwin in the rotation. Though he provided some quality three-point shooting in his return, Rondo can't be counted on to regularly contribute in that category, as he's only converting at a 34.1 percent clip on 2.3 attempts per game for the season. Instead, Rondo is probably best viewed as a streaming option for assists, and a low-end one at that while Garland is healthy and playing big minutes.
