Durant finished with 30 points (10-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 8-11 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 128-110 win over the Mavericks.
Durant delivered an efficient shooting performance from the floor and got to the charity stripe frequently en route to a game-high-tying 30 points. The veteran forward provided a well-rounded effort, as he contributed on the glass and chipped in two combined steals-plus-blocks. The 38-year-old did commit four turnovers Wednesday, and he's averaged at least 3.1 giveaways in each of his past six seasons.

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Scores 11 points in limited action
Durant recorded 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and an assist across 16 minutes in Thursday's 116-89 preseason win over the Thunder.
Durant endured a relatively quiet performance in Houston's preseason finale, but fantasy managers shouldn't be overly alarmed that he missed all four of his three-pointers. The veteran forward should be just fine for the start of the regular season Oct. 21 against the Mavericks. Durant remains a high-end fantasy scoring option despite the underwhelming preseason outing, and he should be one of the team's go-to options alongside star big man Alperen Sengun when the season kicks off.

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Good to go Thursday
Durant (not injury related) will play in Thursday's preseason game against the Thunder, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
The veteran forward will return to action after sitting out Sunday's loss to the Mavericks. According to Guillory, head coach Ime Udoka said Durant and the rest of the Rockets' starting five are expected to play about one half of the team's preseason finale.

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Will sit out Sunday
Durant will not play in Sunday's preseason rematch against Dallas, Varun Shankar of the Houston Chronicle reports. The forward finished Friday's preseason contest with 15 points (7-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two assists and one block in 23 minutes.
According to coach Ime Udoka, Durant was initially scheduled to play only the first half Friday but requested additional minutes to build chemistry with Fred VanVleet and his other new teammates. The veteran forward's absence Sunday appears to be a planned precaution rather than an injury-related setback, and Houston should have additional minutes available for its other wings and forwards

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Downplays talk of reduced minutes
Durant pushed back Monday on the idea of playing reduced minutes in his 20th season, per Ben DuBose of USA Today.
The future Hall of Famer logged 78 regular-season appearances last year, his most since 2018-19 with the Warriors. Durant also averaged 36.4 minutes per game before going down with an ankle injury and missing five of Houston's six playoff contests. However, it doesn't sound like the 37-year-old perennial All-Star is ready to take it easy for the contending Rockets in 2026-27. Durant trails only LeBron James among the NBA's active minutes leaders.

Rockets' Kevin Durant: Facing similar role
Durant (ankle) averaged 26.0 points per game during his first season with Houston and continued to cement his place among the NBA's all-time great scorers, moving into the top five on the league's career 30-point games list.
Durant led the Rockets to a 52-30 record and a playoff berth despite battling injuries late in the year. Houston made no major changes to its core during the offseason, so Durant should once again operate as the club's primary scoring option while chasing another deep postseason run.
