Davis Bertans: Signs with Dubai BC
Bertans signed a multi-year deal with Dubai Basketball Club on Tuesday.
After eight seasons in the NBA, Bertans will head overseas and likely be a featured player on his new team. The deal will include NBA opt-outs, but the specifics aren't known yet. In 475 total NBA appearances, Bertans averaged 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.9 three-pointers.

Davis Bertans: Waived by Buzz City
The Hornets waived Bertans on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Before the start of free agency last week, Bertans unsurprisingly declined the early termination option on his five-year, $80 million contract, which had been set to expire after the 2024-25 season. Rather than keeping Bertans on board as a possible trade chip for salary-matching purposes during the upcoming season, the Hornets will instead part ways with the 31-year-old forward, who played well for Charlotte upon coming over in a Feb. 8 trade with the Thunder. Over 28 appearances for the Hornets, Bertans averaged 8.8 points, 2.4 three-pointers, 1.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.8 steals in 20.8 minutes per contest.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Returns to action with Latvia
Bertans produced nine points (3-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt), one steal and one block across 20 minutes in Latvia's 83-55 win over Georgia on Tuesday.
Bertans missed the Hornets' final regular-season game due to Achilles soreness, but his return to game action with Latvia bodes well for his return in 2024-25. The 31-year-old was a non-factor for the Thunder last season, and he was acquired via trade by the Hornets on Feb. 8. Bertans went on to play 28 games for the club, during which he averaged 8.8 points and 1.8 rebounds across 20.8 minutes per game.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Out for regular-season finale
Bertans (Achilles) won't play Sunday versus Cleveland, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Bertans had suited up in 24 consecutive contests for Charlotte, but he'll miss the season finale with left Achilles soreness. Largely an afterthought for Oklahoma City to begin the season, Bertans was a regular part of head coach Steve Clifford's rotation after coming over to Charlotte in a Feb. 8 trade. Over 28 appearances with the Hornets, Bertans averaged 8.8 points, 2.4 three-pointers, 1.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.8 steals in 20.8 minutes while shooting 39.4 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from downtown. His contract contains a $16 million early termination option for 2024-25, but don't expect Bertans to forgo that salary, given that he would be hard pressed to garner that kind of money as a free agent this summer.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Questionable for Sunday
Bertans (Achilles) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers.
The Hornets are already very shorthanded, so they will be hoping the veteran can give it a go. If not, guys like Aleksej Pokusevski and Marques Bolden could have more opportunities.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Back to bench
Bertans won't start Friday's game against the Magic.
With Vasilije Micic (shoulder) and Miles Bridges (wrist) returning to action, Bertans and JT Thor will shift to the bench after making spot starts Wednesday. Over his last 18 bench appearances, Bertans has averaged 9.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.8 steals in 22.6 minutes per game.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Busy defender in Wednesday's start
Bertans accumulated seven points (2-7 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, four assists and four steals across 27 minutes during Wednesday's 89-86 loss to Portland.
While he didn't get much going on offense, Bertans did tie his career high in steals while making his first start of the season. The 31-year-old forward has seen a steady role in the Hornets' injury-ravaged rotation since the beginning of March, but Bertans has averaged just 8.8 points, 2.3 threes, 2.2 boards, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 23.7 minutes a contest during that time.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Gets starting nod
Bertans is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.
Bertans and JT Thor will replace Vasilije Micic (shoulder) and Miles Bridges (wrist) in the starting five Wednesday. Bertans will make his first start of the season and has played at least 30 minutes only twice in 2023-24.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Drains four threes vs. Warriors
Bertans finished with 14 points (4-8 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal over 19 minutes during Friday's 115-97 loss to the Warriors.
Bertans was questionable for Friday's game due to a nose injury, but he was able to suit up. He was the only Hornets player to shoot well from beyond the arc, as the team went 12-for-46 from three against Golden State. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Bertans, as he entered Friday's contest shooting just 22.0 percent from three-point range on 5.1 attempts per game over his last eight games.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Officially cleared to play
Bertans (nose) is available for Friday's game against the Warriors.
Bertans was probable on the Hornets' injury report, so his availability isn't particularly surprising. Over his last five appearances, he's averaged 6.0 points in 20.8 minutes per game.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Probable for Friday
Bertans is probable for Friday's game against the Warriors due to a nose injury.
Bertans will likely extend his streak of consecutive games played to 16 on Friday despite showing up on the injury report. Over his last 15 appearances, the sharpshooter has averaged 8.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.8 steals in 22.6 minutes per game.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Tossed from game
Bertans was ejected from Tuesday's game versus the Suggs with 4:40 remaining in the second quarter after being assessed with a Flagrant 2 foul for elbowing Magic guard Jalen Suggs in the face, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.
Bertans will finish Tuesday's contest with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one steal and one block in nine minutes before being ejected. Aleksej Pokusevski and Grant Williams are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence.

Hornets' Davis Bertans: Drops season-high 16 off bench
Bertans supplied 16 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 31 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 109-98 loss to Philadelphia.
After scoring just 12 points over the prior three games, Bertans bounced back with his best scoring performance of the season. The 31-year-old forward has seen a bigger role with the Hornets than with the Thunder, but the extra court time hasn't translated into consistent fantasy value. Through nine games in March, he's averaging 10.2 points, 3.1 boards, 2.6 threes, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 26.2 minutes a contest.
