Suns' Mamadi Diakite: Signs Exhibit 10 pact
The Suns signed Diakite to an Exhibit 10 contract Friday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
The Suns' G League affiliate, the Valley Suns, recently acquired the returning player rights to Diakite, and he will likely compete for a two-way spot with the Suns on a non-guaranteed training camp deal. The 27-year-old has spent four seasons bouncing around the league on two-way contracts, during which he has averaged 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds across 9.2 minutes in 55 total regular-season appearances. Diakite will reunite with coach Mike Budenholzer, his coach while he was on the 2021 Bucks championship roster on a two-way deal.

Mamadi Diakite: Waived by Memphis
The Grizzlies waived Diakite on Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
The Grizzlies acquired Diakite from the Nets this offseason in exchange for Ziaire Williams, but the former obviously wasn't in Memphis' long-term plans. By releasing Diakite, the Grizzlies get off his $2.2 million contract and open up a 15th roster slot.

Grizzlies' Mamadi Diakite: Shipped to Memphis
The Nets traded Diakite to the Grizzlies in exchange for Ziaire Williams (back/hip), a 2030 second-round pick and the draft rights to Nemanja Dangubic on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Diakite will change addresses for the second time this offseason, as he was previously traded to the Nets on July 6 as part of the deal that sent Mikal Bridges to the Knicks. The 27-year-old Diakite made just six NBA appearances in 2023-24 for the Knicks and Spurs, averaging 2.0 points in 4.0 minutes. After ultimately landing in Memphis, Diakite will likely operate as a deep reserve and likely won't be included in the Grizzlies rotation most nights.

The Spurs opened up a two-way slot when they waived Charles Bediako on Friday. Diakite has NBA experience with the Bucks, Thunder and the Cavaliers, appearing in 49 total games with career averages of 3.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 10.3 minutes per contest.
