Warriors' Gary Payton: Posts 18 points from bench
Payton finished with 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals in 26 minutes during Monday's 114-105 loss to the Nuggets.
Payton has come in handy as a sixth man. Stephen Curry gets little rest when healthy, and his ailing back almost produced a scratch for the All-Star. Payton will be instrumental in keeping Curry fresh as the payoffs approach, and it wouldn't be surprising to see an uptick in Payton's production down the stretch.

Warriors' Gary Payton: Scores career-high 26 points
Payton chipped in 26 points (11-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Monday's 130-120 win over the Trail Blazers.
Payton, who typically has a very low usage rate with most of his attention focused on the defensive side of things, erupted for a career-high 26 points in the win. Lines like these have been few and far between for Payton, so fantasy managers should be hesitant to chase after more performances like these. Payton's role will also decrease if Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) and/or Brandin Podziemski (back) return to action soon.

Warriors' Gary Payton: Just misses double-double Thursday
Payton totaled 16 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and one assist across 21 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 121-119 win over the Nets.
Payton fell just short of his first double-double of the season, and his first since Jan. 5, 2022. The veteran wing's increased shot volume was at least partially since Brandin Podziemski (back) was able to play only one minute Thursday, and if the Warriors' starting two guard misses additional time, Payton could be one of the biggest beneficiaries. Even in his usual role on the second unit, Payton has scored in double digits in four of his last eight appearances, averaging 10.0 points, 3.3 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 threes in just 15.9 minutes a contest.

Payton sustained the injury during the third quarter as a result of a head-to-head collision with an opposing player. Warriors' Gary Payton: Exits to locker room Monday
Payton sustained an apparent head/nose injury during the third quarter of Monday's game against the Hornets and walked back to the locker room, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
Payton stayed down for an extended period following head-to-head contact from an opposing player, and he walked off the floor with a bloody nose. The veteran swingman has provided a spark off the bench for the Warriors, and if he's unable to return, Buddy Hield and Gui Santos could see a bump in minutes the rest of the way.

Warriors' Gary Payton: Makes return from ankle issue
Payton (ankle) tallied four points (2-2 FG), two steals and one assist across 15 minutes in Friday's 132-108 win over the Kings.
A right peroneal contusion kept Payton off the floor for the Warriors' final game before the All-Star break Feb. 13 in Houston, but the All-Star break provided enough time for the 32-year-old to move past the issue. Payton continues to handle a limited role in the Golden State rotation, as he's been held under 20 minutes in eight consecutive appearances.

Payton finished with 14 points, two rebounds and one steal in 16 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Mavericks, but he may have gotten injured at some point along the way. Warriors' Gary Payton: Moves to bench against Magic
Payton is coming off the bench in Monday's game against the Magic, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Draymond Green (calf) is back in Golden State's lineup Monday, pushing Payton back to the bench after the latter started six of his last seven games for the Warriors. Through 27 outings from the second unit this year, Payton has averaged 4.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.6 steals in 12.8 minutes, so he'll have far less fantasy appeal against Orlando.

Warriors' Gary Payton: Season-best performance in win
Payton closed Wednesday's 116-109 victory over the Thunder with 15 points (5-7 FG, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal over 25 minutes.
Payton recorded season highs in points and rebounds during Wednesday's win. While the 31-year-old guard hasn't been a consistent volume scorer this season, he has tallied a steal in each of his last three outings. Until Draymond Green (calf) is able to return to action, Payton could remain in Golden State's starting unit.
