  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Nabs double-double in win

Tatum amassed 31 points (7-21 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 13-15 FT), 12 rebounds and six assists over 40 minutes during Sunday's 113-107 victory over the Bucks. The MVP candidate led the Celtics in points and rebounds while tying Derrick White for the team high in assists. Tatum has scored 30 or more points in six of his 11 regular-season appearances, and this season he has averaged 30.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.6 steals while shooting 46.5 percent from the field across 36.0 minutes per game. The superstar did struggle from the field Sunday, though his efficiency has remained mostly consistent throughout the year.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Game-high 33 points Friday

Tatum finished Friday's 108-104 overtime win over Brooklyn with 33 points (11-25 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 6-7 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block over 42 minutes. Tatum was the game's leading scorer Friday, and his 42 minutes were second-most behind teammate Derrick White (43). Tatum was one rebound shy from registering his fourth double-double of the season, and he logged six-plus assists for the fourth time. The No. 3 overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft continues to carry the load for the Celtics this season, even as opposing teams hone in on him more in the absence of co-star Jaylen Brown (hip). Through the first 10 games of the 2024-25 regular season, Tatum is averaging 30.5 points on 47.8 percent shooting (including 37.1 percent from three on 11.6 3PA/G), 7.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.8 steals over 35.6 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Puts up 32 points

Tatum accumulated 32 points (10-20 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 7-9 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 118-112 loss to the Warriors. It was just another night at the office for Tatum in the scoring column, as he posted his fifth 30-point performance of the season and his third in his last five appearances. He's been particularly sharp from beyond the arc over his last two games and has drilled 11 of 24 attempts. Look for Tatum and Derrick White to continue to serve as the focal points of this Boston offense until Jaylen Brown (hip) is cleared to return and share some of load.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Stuffs stat sheet Monday

Tatum supplied 28 points (10-21 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and two steals across 30 minutes during Monday's 123-93 victory over Atlanta. Tatum continues to enjoy a dominant start to the season, reaching the 25-point mark in all but one of his contests but producing at a highly efficient rate across the board. Through eight games, Tatum is putting up 30.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.9 steals per contest, and his usage rate could spike even higher if Jaylen Brown (hip) remains sidelined.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Team-high 29 points vs. Charlotte

Tatum supplied 29 points (7-15 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 14-17 FT), seven rebounds and three assists across 34 minutes during Saturday's 113-103 win over the Hornets. Tatum was the focal point of the Celtics' offense Saturday as Jaylen Brown (hip) was sidelined. Tatum did most of his damage from the charity stripe as he shot a season-high 17 free throw attempts in the win. Through the first seven games of the regular season, Tatum is averaging 303.3 points on 48.2 percent shooting, 7.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.9 steals over 35.1 minutes per game.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Does it all in win

Tatum contributed 32 points (9-19 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 11-13 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 124-109 victory over the Hornets. Tatum scored at least 32 points for the fourth time in seven games and recorded his third double-double -- second with points and rebounds. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets, who kept the game reasonably close, fell apart and committed a handful of flagrant fouls, including Grant Williams perhaps intentionally running into Tatum at halfcourt. The All-Star forward showed no ill effects of the collision and remains on a torrid start to the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Attempts 18 threes vs. Indiana

Tatum finished Wednesday's 135-132 overtime loss to the Pacers with 37 points (10-25 FG, 5-18 3Pt, 12-15 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and four steals over 43 minutes. Tatum scored 37 points Wednesday for the third time this year, though it came at a high volume with some help from the charity stripe. Tatum opened the 2024-25 regular season shooting 48.6 percent from deep over the first three games, but over his last two outings he's gone 6-for-26 from beyond the arc. Still, Tatum is the key that unlocks the Celtics' offense, and he will continue to have high-volume nights as he shows off his smoother jump shot. The 4-1 Celtics will look to start a new win streak Friday against the Hornets.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Shooting woes in victory

Tatum supplied 15 points (6-16 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 36 minutes during Monday's 119-108 win over the Bucks. The superstar took a backseat to Jaylen Brown (30 points) and Payton Pritchard (28 points) as Tatum struggled from beyond the arc. However, the All-Star was able to stuff the stat sheet while leading the Celtics in rebounds. Tatum was named to the NBA Players of the Week following his first three regular-season games of the year, during which he averaged 33.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.0 combined steals plus blocks across 32.3 minutes per game.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Erupts for 37 points Saturday

Tatum delivered 37 points (12-26 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 7-9 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block across 38 minutes in Saturday's 124-118 win over the Pistons. The fact that Tatum's lowest scoring mark of the current season has been a 25-point effort (albeit in only 29 minutes) goes to show how good the star forward has been to start the 2024-25 campaign. Tatum has been a man on a mission to start the season and is averaging a robust 33.0 points per game while shooting an impressive 54.6 percent from the field through his first three appearances.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Shines in win over Wizards

Tatum notched 25 points (9-20 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Thursday's 122-102 win over the Wizards. Tatum has been a man on a mission in his first two appearances this season, and while he couldn't repeat the 37-point effort he delivered Tuesday against the Knicks, he could've reached that mark had he played more minutes Thursday. It's only been two games, but Tatum is shooting 23-for-38 from the field and 11-for-22 from three-point range, so he's been extremely efficient and highly productive to start the campaign.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Dominant on Opening Night

Tatum recorded 37 points (14-18 FG, 8-11 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block In 30 minutes during Wednesday's 132-109 win over the Knicks. Tatum showed no signs of taking his foot off the gas after being crowned an NBA champion last season. The superstar forward's efficient shooting from downtown helped the Celtics tie an NBA record for the most three-pointers made as a team in a single game with 29. Tatum also showed off his playmaking ability, as he racked up double-digit assists only once in the entire 2023-24 regular season.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Drops team-high 24 points Tuesday

Tatum scored 24 points (9-22 FG, 5-14 3Pt, 1-2 FT) while adding seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in 34 minutes during Tuesday's 119-118 preseason loss to the Raptors. Seeing a full workload for the first time this preseason, Tatum led the Celtics in scoring while delivering a strong overall performance. The five-time All-Star has averaged better than 26.0 points, 8.0 boards, 4.0 assists and 3.0 threes in each of the last three seasons, and there's no reason to expect a decline from the 26-year-old in 2024-25.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Returning to action Tuesday

Tatum (rest) is available and starting in Tuesday's preseason game against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Boston rested their starters for Sunday's contest against Toronto, but they are expected to play more than they have in previous preseason outings during Tuesday's rematch. Tatum has looked sharp in three preseason games, averaging 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 21.8 minutes.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Resting Sunday

Coach Joe Mazzulla said Tatum (rest) won't play in Sunday's preseason game against the Raptors, Jay King of The Athletic reports. Tatum played 23 minutes during Saturday's preseason win over the 76ers and posted 16 points (5-11 FG), 10 rebounds and six assists. His last chance to suit up during the preseason will come Tuesday in a rematch against Toronto.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Double-doubles in blowout win

Tatum had 16 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3PT, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 23 minutes during Saturday's preseason win over the 76ers. Tatum was in cruise control, taking advantage of a favorable matchup by racking up a double-double in quick time. This was basically a training run for the Celtics, facing off against a vastly undermanned 76ers squad. Tatum is who he is at this point in his career, but he will be looking to expand his game even further as Boston looks to reach the summit once again. He is a safe target in the mid-to-late first round of drafts.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Scores 12 points Friday

Tatum notched 12 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and five assists across 20 minutes in Friday's 107-103 preseason win over the Nuggets. Luke Kornet was the only starter who reached the 20-minute mark in the preseason opener, but when he was out there, Tatum was the clear focal point of the Celtics' offense. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, as Tatum has been one of the most consistent performers in the league over the last few years and is a key cog in Boston's offensive scheme. The final shooting line wasn't pretty, but preseason stats shouldn't matter much. Expect Tatum to be a man on a mission as he aims to lead the Celtics to a second consecutive NBA title in 2024-25.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Double-double in Olympic win

Tatum amassed 10 points (4-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals across 23 minutes in Team USA's 104-83 win over Puerto Rico in the Paris Olympics on Saturday. Tatum stuffed the stat sheet and led Team USA with a game-high 10 rebounds in its blowout win. The 2024 NBA champion did not appear in the squad's first group-phase win over Serbia; however, he has seen an uptick in playing time over the last two games, which could continue into the Olympic quarterfinals. The 26-year-old accumulated 14 points, 15 rebounds and five assists across 40 minutes in two group-stage contests.

Tatum will start Team USA's game against South Sudan on Wednesday. After not appearing in Team USA's 110-84 win over Serbia on Sunday, Tatum will move into the starting lineup Wednesday. Anthony Davis has also been promoted to the first unit, joining Devin Booker, LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Tatum with Kevin Durant operating off the bench again.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Agrees to historic extension

Tatum and the Celtics agreed to a five-year, $315 million supermax extension with a player option Monday, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports. Tatum didn't win Eastern Conference Finals MVP or Finals MVP but was arguably the Celtics' best player during their championship run and has been rewarded with the largest contract in NBA history. He's still just 26 years old, and on top of being an NBA champion, Tatum has been named to three All-NBA First Teams and five All-Star Games, winning the 2023 All-Star Game MVP. The Celtics have Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday locked up long term and are the early favorites to win the 2024-25 championship.

Tatum had 31 points (11-24 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), 11 assists, eight rebounds and two steals across 45 minutes during Monday's 106-88 win over the Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Tatum had an all-time classic of a game to help deliver Boston banner No. 18 on Monday. The five-time All-Star was the first Celtics player since Larry Bird in 1986 with 20-plus points, 10-plus assists and five-plus rebounds in an NBA Finals game. The 26-year-old averaged 22.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks across five contests in the Finals. Overall, Tatum was spectacular in the 2023-24 playoffs, averaging 25.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks while shooting 42.7 percent from the field. The Celtics will look to repeat their success next season, as Tatum and Jaylen Brown will attempt to lead the team to back-to-back titles.
