  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Plays 20 minutes off bench

Forrest accumulated six points (3-5 FG, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one steal in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 115-114 loss to the Hornets. Forrest saw an uptick in playing time for the shorthanded Hawks on Wednesday and posted a relatively well-rounded stat line. Despite his decent performance against Charlotte, Forrest will likely see minimal playing time once Dejounte Murray (quadriceps) is able to return.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Dishes six dimes in defeat

Forrest notched two points (1-2 FG), four rebounds and six assists over 22 minutes during Monday's 136-105 loss to the Lakers. Forrest got a little more run than usual due to the lopsided nature of the score, as his 22 minutes were the most of the campaign. The fourth-year guard wasn't aggressive as a shooter but did manage to finish second on the team with six assists. Forrest's opportunities have increased a bit since Trae Young went down with a finger injury in late February, but the former's production hasn't come closer to warranting fantasy attention.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Used sparingly Friday

Forrest registered two points (1-2 FG) and one rebound over eight minutes during Friday's 99-92 win over the Grizzlies. Forrest continues to play limited minutes off the bench, tallying two points in eight minutes. Despite injuries to a couple of key backcourt pieces, Forrest doesn't appear to be a priority for the coaching staff. At this point, he is not someone to consider, even in deeper leagues.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Contract officially converted

The Hawks officially converted Forrest to a standard NBA contract Thursday, making him available for Thursday's game versus the Nets. Forrest had previously reached the maximum threshold of NBA appearances for a two-way player but can now suit up for Atlanta for the rest of the 2023-24 season. Forrest will likely continue to serve as a depth option in the Hawks' backcourt.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Gets upgraded to standard deal

The Hawks plan to convert Forrest from a two-way contract to a standard NBA contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Forrest had been in the midst of his second season on a two-way deal with the Hawks, but after having already been active for the maximum 50 games at the NBA level this season, he wasn't eligible to suit up for Atlanta on his current contract. By upgrading Forrest to a standard contract, he'll be eligible to play again, but it's unclear if the transaction will be made official prior to Thursday's game in Brooklyn. Atlanta is set to waive Patty Mills to open up a spot on the 15-man roster for Forrest, who is averaging 2.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per game over 20 appearances for Hawks this season.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Not eligible for NBA games

Forrest is ineligible to play in Friday's game against the Raptors, as he's already been active for the maximum 50 games at the NBA level that he's allotted this season as one of the Hawks' two-way players, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Forrest is still able to play in games for the G League's College Park Skyhawks if the Hawks choose to assign him to the affiliate, but he won't be able to suit up for the NBA club unless Atlanta upgrades him from his two-way deal. The 25-year-old hasn't been a regular factor in the rotation this season, appearing in 20 of the 50 games in which he's been active while averaging 2.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per contest.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Fails to score in eight minutes

Forrest amassed four assists over eight minutes during Friday's 127-121 win over the 76ers. Forrest moved back into the rotation, failing to score in eight minutes of playing time. Prior to Friday, he had played only once in the past two weeks. The Hawks were without Dejounte Murray due to a back injury, opening up a spot for Forrest. Given he has struggled to be an every-night part of the rotation, managers can safely avoid him in all formats.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Logs 13 minutes in blowout

Forrest totaled four points (1-4 FG, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes during Saturday's 127-99 loss to Washington. Forrest played at least 13 minutes for the fifth time in the past six games, yet failed to do anything of note when he was on the floor. The Hawks were embarrassed by the Wizards, affording some additional minutes to their fringe options. Although he has been a consistent part of the rotation over the past two weeks, Forrest holds no sustainable fantasy value.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Plays in loss

Forrest played the final four minutes of Tuesday's 128-105 loss to the Cavaliers and missed his only field-goal attempt. While Forrest remains on a two-way contract, his availability on the court is very restricted. Unless the Hawks call him up permanently from the G League, he will continue to make random appearances in a limited fashion.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Hits game-winning FT

Forrest tallied 13 points (5-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three assists, two rebounds and two steals over 14 minutes in Tuesday's 108-107 win over the Cavaliers. Forrest hit the game-tying layup while fouled by Emoni Bates and hit the subsequent free throw to give the Hawks the one-point win. He signed a two-way deal with Atlanta on Sep. 12 after playing 23 NBA games with the team last season when he averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 12.0 minutes per game. He'll look to carve out a larger role for himself during the preseason and will have his next chance Thursday against the Grizzlies.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Sticks in Atlanta with two-way deal

Atlanta re-signed Forrest on a two-way deal Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Forrest spent the 2022-23 campaign with the Hawks on a two-way deal, averaging 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 12.0 minutes per game across 23 NBA appearances (three starts). The undrafted point guard out of Florida State was better during limited action in the G League, averaging 16.7 points, 6.6 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 31.0 minutes per game across seven appearances (six starts). Forrest figures to handle a similar role in 2023-24.

He also recorded at least one steal and one block in the same game for just the third time this season.

Forrest was extremely efficient en route to a season-high 23 points. He also dished out a team-high eight assists, his most since notching a season-high 12 against Motor City on Jan. 27, and recorded at least three steals for the third time over his last four appearances.

Forrest managed 17 points (7-14 FG, 2-2 FT), 12 assists, six rebounds, one steal and one block in 33 minutes during Friday's 124-120 loss to Motor City. In his first G League appearance since Nov. 22, Forrest operated as College Park's primary point guard and made the most of his opportunity by recording a double-double. Across five appearances with the Skyhawks, the 24-year-old is averaging 12.4 points, 7.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 29.8 minutes per game.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Starting Friday

Forrest will start Friday's game at Charlotte, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports. Coach Nate McMillan is switching things up, giving Forrest and Bogdan Bogdanovic starts over AJ Griffin and Jalen Johnson. In his two prior starts, Forrest averaged 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 31.5 minutes.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Returns to bench Wednesday

Forrest isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's matchup with the Magic, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Trae Young's return from a back injury will send Forrest back to his usual bench role. Forrest averaged 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 31.5 minutes across his last two games in the starting lineup.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Starting Sunday

Forrest is starting Sunday against Chicago. Forrest came off the bench during his return to the court Friday, but he played 28 minutes in the loss to the Nets. Dejounte Murray (ankle) remains out Sunday, and Forrest will make his first start of the season.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Gets 28 minutes in return

Forrest (concussion) scored 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-1 FT) and chipped in three assists, two rebounds and two steals across 28 minutes in Friday's 120-116 loss to the Nets. Even though he missed the Hawks' previous three games while in the NBA's concussion protocol, Forrest played his most minutes of the season in his return to action. The inflated playing time was out of necessity, as Atlanta was without three starters due to injury in Dejounte Murray (ankle), John Collins (ankle) and De'Andre Hunter (hip). Aaron Holiday picked up the start at shooting guard in place of Murray, but Forrest looks like he'll be a more significant beneficiary of Murray's absence than Holiday, Justin Holiday (11 minutes) and Jarrett Culver (10 minutes) will.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Active Friday

Forrest (concussion) will play in Friday's game against the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Forrest will return to the hardwood following a three-game absence due to a head injury. Although he has appeared in just eight games this season, he may be called upon Friday considering Dejounte Murray (ankle) and De'Andre Hunter (hip) will be absent from the contest.

  • Hawks' Trent Forrest: Questionable Friday

Forrest (concussion) is questionable for Friday's game against the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Forrest has missed the last three games while in the league's concussion protocol but will be in the mix to return Friday. Even if he's deemed healthy enough to play, he's unlikely to see significant playing time for Atlanta.
