Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: Modest production continues
Hunter notched 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 127-111 loss to Chicago.
Hunter shifted to the bench Wednesday, a move that sounds as though it is going to hold, at least for the foreseeable future. After a strong start to the season, it appears as though the coaching staff is going in a different direction. In 13 appearances over the past month, Hunter is averaging 12.9 points and 1.9 three-pointers in 28.1 minutes per game, leaving him well outside the top-200 players in standard formats.

Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: To have bench role moving forward
Hunter will come off the bench Wednesday against Chicago and for the foreseeable future, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The Cavs have lost six of their previous nine games, and they're shaking up the starting five amid the cold spell. That means Hunter will come off the bench for the first time all season, with Jaylon Tyson stepping into the starting role. Hunter will continue to come off the bench going forward.

Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: Struggles with shot Friday
Hunter registered 15 points (4-14 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and four rebounds in 27 minutes during Friday's 130-126 victory over the Wizards.
Hunter reached the 15-point mark for the first time in December, but he continues to struggle with his shot. The veteran forward plays a secondary role in the Cavaliers' offensive scheme, but his ability to knock down outside shots certainly opens up possibilities for others. Over five games in December, Hunter is averaging 11.0 points per game while shooting 35.3 percent from the floor and a mere 22.2 percent from three-point range.

Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: Passive performance in win
Hunter posted 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal across 21 minutes during Friday's 130-117 win over San Antonio.
Hunter logged just 21 minutes as he dealt with some early foul issues, scoring fewer than 15 points for the fourth straight game. After a strong start to the season, Hunter's production has regressed of late, averaging 12.5 points and 1.8 three-pointers in six games over the past two weeks. He is worth holding in most leagues, given the potential scoring upside. However, his overall fantasy game remains limited, meaning he could be a drop candidate in very specific situations.

Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: Resting vs. Raptors
Hunter (rest) is out for Monday's game against the Raptors.
Hunter is getting the night off after logging 29 minutes in Sunday's win over the Clippers. In all likelihood, the forward will be back in the lineup for Friday's tilt against the Hawks. Hunter's absence should free up enough playing time to get Dean Wade (knee) onto most streaming radars if he suits up, especially with Jarrett Allen (finger) missing another contest.

Hunter amassed 17 points (5-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Sunday's 120-105 win over the Clippers.
Darius Garland didn't have his best scoring performance in this win, so Hunter needed to step up again, and the veteran forward continues to make a big impact for the Cavaliers' offense. Hunter has scored at least 20 points in two straight games for the second time this season, and his longest streak in that regard is a three-game stretch between Nov. 8 and Nov. 12. The veteran wing has done a good job adjusting to a starting role with the Cavaliers after being a key reserve in 2024-25. Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: Drops 11 in win
Hunter totaled 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt), five rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes during Monday's 118-106 victory over the Bucks.
Hunter has cooled down offensively, averaging 10 points in his last two games after going on a streak averaging 22.3 points in the previous four. While that miniature offensive explosion can likely be attributed to various absences among the starting lineup, it is encouraging to see that Hunter is capable of such offensive production, and he would be a priority add if any of the other starters were to miss an extended period of time.

Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: Puts up 21 points in win
Hunter supplied 21 points (8-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 130-116 win over Miami.
Hunter embraced a bigger role on offense due to the absences of Donovan Mitchell (rest), Evan Mobley (rest) and Darius Garland (toe) to surpass the 20-point mark for the third straight contest. Hunter is making the most of his steady role in the starting lineup and has been a pleasant surprise from a fantasy perspective. Through nine games, Hunter is averaging 19.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.9 steals per game.

Hunter returned from a one-game absence against the Wizards on Friday but was limited to eight points. He certainly showed the illness is way past him with this performance in the second leg of a back-to-back set. Cavaliers' De'Andre Hunter: Iffy due to illness
Hunter (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.
Hunter was a late addition to the injury report. It's possible the Cavaliers evaluate him after warmups before a decision is made on his status. Sam Merrill (hip) is also questionable, so the Cavaliers could be pretty shorthanded on the wings unless they get some good news on these forwards.
