Kings' Devin Carter: Rejoins parent club
Sacramento recalled Carter from the G League's Stockton Kings on Sunday, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Carter made his professional debut in the G League on Saturday, posting 29 points (11-18 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block across 33 minutes during the Stockton's 109-107 win over the Austin Spurs. The No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft had been sidelined to start his rookie season due to a torn labrum sustained during a pre-draft workout. Given Sacramento's recent struggles, Carter may be able to push for a rotation spot as a backup point guard.

Kings' Devin Carter: Heads to G League
Sacramento assigned Carter (shoulder) to the G League's Stockton Kings on Thursday, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.
Carter has been sidelined all season after undergoing surgery in mid-July to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, but the rookie's assignment to the G League suggests that he's ready to resume practicing. His NBA debut is likely still at least a week or more away, however, and Carter could end up seeing game action in the G League before he sees action for Sacramento.

Kings' Devin Carter: Undergoes successful surgery
The Kings announced Thursday that Carter underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
Carter sustained a left shoulder injury during a pre-draft workout, and the Kings were aware of the issue when selecting him with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Sacramento announced Thursday that they'll update his status in approximately six months, so the 22-year-old will presumably miss at least the first few months of the 2024-25 season. However, Carter is expected to make a full recovery with no long-term concerns.

Kings' Devin Carter: Set to undergo shoulder surgery
Carter is expected to undergo surgery on his left shoulder next week, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Sunday. The procedure puts Carter's availability for the start of the regular season up in the air.
Carter sustained a left shoulder injury during a pre-draft workout, but the issue didn't deter Sacramento from selecting the Providence product with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. However, the injury is severe enough to require Carter to undergo a procedure. As Charania notes, Carter is expected to make a full recovery with no long-term concerns. However, he may not be ready in time for the regular season.

Kings' Devin Carter: Picked 13th by Kings
Carter was selected with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft by Sacramento.
Carter is a high-energy, high-motor guard who's an excellent defender but is a bit of a 'tweener due to his offensive game. He's capable of creating his own shot and hit on 37.7 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc, but it's unclear if his decision making will be good enough for him to play point guard. While he's only 6-foot-2, the reigning Big East Player of the Year out of Providence has a massive wingspan and logged 8.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. However, he'll have to navigate through plenty of traffic in a busy Kings backcourt that features De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter and Keon Ellis.
